The Relationship Between The Southern Song Official Kilns And The Longquan Kilns

The manufacturing process and aesthetic tendency of celadon in the Song dynasty is an important part of the Chinese ceramics history. The most beautiful celadon which body is thin and glaze thick were have produced in the official kilns and Longquan kilns in the southern song dynasty. The celadon, just like a jade, was loved by people from generation to generation since they came out. So it’s a treasure of the Chinese ceramic history. The relationship between the two kilns is one of the most significant problems in the Chinese ceramic history. There is no consensus about the problem in the academic circles today.Based on the background of politics, economy, culture, history in the southern song dynasty, There will be a systematically and deeply research in the similarities and differences between the Official kilns of the southern song dynasty and the Longquan kilns as well as other kilns in this paper. The paper is divided into several parts following:In the First part of the paper, it will be to solved the problem what is the the similarities and differences between the official kilns and Longquan kilns in the southern song dynasty in the appearance characteristics such as type,shape and pattern.In the Second part, it will be to solved the problem what is the the similarities and differences between the official kilns and Longquan kilns in the southern song dynasty in the handmade process characteristics such as body making, decoration,glazing, kiln structure, kiln furniture and firing process.In theThird part, it will be to solved the problem why, when, how the official kilns of the southern song dynasty was set up; the achievements and status of Longquan Kiln around the Southern Song official kilns’setting.In the End, it will be to solved the overall relationship of the between the official kilns and Longquan kilns in the southern song dynasty.
