| Discourse markers are particular functional components in language:they are independent in grammar, can’t constitute larger language units with adjacent components, and don’t affect the legality of the sentence whether they exist or not. At the same time, they only have procedural meaning with no conceptual meaning, and they don’t constitute specific semantic content of the sentence. In addition, functionally they connect the neighbor sentences, lead and control the discourse understanding overall. Discourse markers is an open functional classification, they could be words, phrases, or sentences. They distribute widely in spoken and written, and affect the process of communication by controlling the discourse understanding. So, discourse markers research plays an important role in realizing and mastering the regular pattern of language, and also it is very important to guide daily communication and promote effective communication. With all this in mind, this paper focus on micro-blog and try to study the new discourse marker "haoba" comprehensively by referencing the results of previous studies.This paper includes four parts:the first part is an introduction, in this part, we introduce home and abroad research present situation, re-defined the discourse markers, identify "haoba" as a discourse marker, and describe the research methods, innovation and research significance of this paper. Second part, firstly, we make charts by collecting and analyzing large quantity of examples to show the distributional features of the discourse marker "haoba". Next, we describe the pragmatic functions of the discourse marker "haoba" by examining a large number of instances:communicative interaction function and discourse organization function. The previous function consists of the following parts:weakening the language force to ease the face threat; strengthening the language force to arouse the attention of the others; leading to the evaluation and show the attitude. The latter function includes five parts:as a starting marker of the topic; as a ending marker of the topic; as a changing marker of the topic; as a supplementary marker of the topic; highlighting the topic background. Third part, we first investigate the evolution path of the discourse marker "haoba" synchronically, and then we describe the use of "haoba" in classical Chinese. Lastly, we analyze the motivations and mechanisms of the discourse marker "haoba". By examining the evolution of "haoba", we believe that constraints of the pragmatic principles, subjectivization and syntactic environment are the chief reasons, while pragmatic inference and the curing of the inferring meaning are the mechanisms. The fourth part is conclusions, in which we review and sum up full-text content, and supplement the remaining issues. |
