Exploring On The Eco-sophy Of Leo Tolstoy

From the1970’s onwards, Eco-thoughts have flooded in every-fields of human culture. In the meantime, the Eco-criticism research, also rose in literature. This essay intends to probe into the thoughts and works of Leo Tolstoy from the ecological perspective, in the hope of unveiling the eco-sophy of Tolstoy’s thoughts.This thesis is composed of two chapters:The first chapter is simply summing up the cause of the ecological crisis and the relationship of the spiritual ecology and Leo Tolstoy’s thoughts, also comprehensively into the Russian national character, Orthodox church to explores the source of Tolstoy’s eco-sophy, sums up the substance of his eco-sophy from the view of love, nature and life. The second chapter, the human alienation as the pointcut, analyses the major works:War and Peace、 Resurrection that reflect the change of his World view, concluded that the ecological holism thought of Tolstoy’s eco-sophy.
