Wu Kuan was a famous writer in the literature field between chenghua and hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty. He not only lead literature field of Guange, but also guide Wu Zhong district. He is on an equal standing with Li Dongyang,Yang Yiqing, Xie Duo, Wang Ao, Shen Zhou etc, driving the development of the literature trend.In his life time, he has no achievements on the political, but was recognized by contemporaries and posterity because of his noble personality and Poetry Writing. He was called "Guange’s core writers" by Chancellors of Siku. His poetry is profound and elegant and essay is pure and simple. This thesis has studied some basic problems such as Wu Kuan’s family history, his experience of life, his process of making friends and travelling and his writing and so on. Further more, the thesis has carded Wu Kuan’s thoughts and literary concept, and discussed the ideological content and arts features of his poem and prose.Finally, through the discrimination about Chaling classicist school’s puzzle, we clear the relationship between Wu Kuan and Chaling classicist school and revert his literary status and effects between chenghua and hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty.The preface introduced Wu kuan simply, elaborated the value and the investigative situation of this topics, and card the ideas of writing about it.The first chapter attempts to card some basic facts such as Wu Kuan’s family background, his experience of life, his making friends and traveling activities and his writing and so on. Wu Kuan was born in Wu Zhong district in Ming Dynasty, and influenced by its cultural tradition. He took Chen Jian, Liu Yu and Xu Youzhen as teathers, and learned Confucianism and literature. Wu Kuan has lived Beijing since was an government official and make friends with many people. Wu Kuan has lived in hometown for two times in his life since was an official, all over the the eup Lane Trail. Mainly, he made friends with the people from Wuzhong district and working in the Hanlinyuan. He has written Collection of Poems named "Home possession Collected Works’", which contains Seventy-seven volumes and addendum one. In addition, named" Wu Wending’s poetry", which contains one volumes. This chapter was the basis of further studying about Wu Kuan’s thought and his writing.The second chapter explore Wu Kuan’s recluse thoughts, literary concept, poetry’s learning and prose retro. The details of this chapter consisted of carding Wu Kuan’s literary concept influenced by Wu zhong’s cultural tradition, analyzing how to learn the poets of Wei Yingwu, Liu Zongyuan,who lived in the Tang Dynasty. And Su Dongpo, Fan Chengda, who lived in the Song Dynasty. To discuss the prose retro and analyze "Han Ge Ou Tai".The third chapter discusses Wu Kuan’s literary concept and the the arts features of his poem and prose. The main contents of Wu Kuan’s poem is consist of Ornamental calligraphy and painting, chanting objects, expressing his own feelings,complimentary copy. There are also simulation and yearn of ancient times and commemoration of farewell with his friends. The main arts features of his poem is elegant, clean and distinct, which caused by his following Wei Yingwu, Liu Zongyuan. At the same time, making use of literary quotation and rich is also his poem’s feature, which caused by his following Su Shi, Fan Chengda. His prose include narration, preface, epitaph and biography and so on. The prose is mostly practical, lack of literary. Overall style is elegant and rustic.The forth chapter Discriminate Chaling not "School", by means of Li Dongyang literary status judgment, relation between Li Dongyang and Chaling "Liu Gong", and relation between those who called Chaling members and Fugu members. On this basis, analyze the question about Wu Kuan "Yu Yi Chaling", concluding that Wu Kuan is not Chaling school,but a important writer just like Li Dongyang.The conclusion evaluates the status and influence of Wu Kuan in the literature field between chenghua and hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty, and draws conclusions of this thesis.
