Generally speaking, an interpreter has to take the relevant notes and make theappropriate analysis during the consecutive interpretation process in which courseanalyzing the source language is particularly important. After interpreting consecutivelyU.S. President Barack Obama’s speech and Q&A section at Fudan University in Shanghaiin November2009, I have analyzed and summarized the specific differences in thethinking patterns between English and Chinese according to the interpretation theories inorder to find out the appropriate solution principles after making a syntactic analysis of thesource language and reformulation of syntactic system to get the target language in linewith its language expression habits. From the perspective of English, this paper, by the contrast of two languages, contributes to the syntactic information processing before offering a more succinct andsmoother interpretation version in which the sentence structure is in line with the Chineseexpression habits and in which the wording is more accurate and refined to be betterunderstood by the audience. In this paper, the method is of certain significance for consecutive interpreters tobetter complete the interpreting tasks, as well as to the achievement of better results inpractice.
