The Dynamic Study Of "X Yilai"

Since the1990s, scholars have begun to in-depth study the “yilai” and its related structure,but we have found that is mostly concentrated on semantic research of “yilai” and constructionsof “yizhi yilai”, which often lacks its dig on the diachronic and dynamic angle. Therefore, weneed to systematically more in-depth study the constructions of “X yilai” from multiple levels,such as static and dynamic, diachronic and synchronic, which also help to broaden the futureChinese grammar dynamic research ideas.This paper based on the worthies researches and rich language facts, by means ofconstruction grammar, semantics syntax theory and textual cohesion and coherence theories,using the means of corpus data analysis, semantic and functional analysis and dynamic analysisto explore the development of “X yilai”, and investigate the causes of its dynamic developmentin the specific syntax and language environment.The textual innovation points lie in:1. Put forward two constructional meaning of “X yilai”: continuous time and finality time.From the perspective of cognitive category theory, it elaborates two cognitive schematas of “Xyilai”. It makes the construction of “X yilai” get rid of the dictionary definition shackles,towards a more systematic and rational road.2. Divide the three sequences in the time category of X in “X yilai”: time sequence, eventsequence and time-to-event sequence. We further classify the structural of X which tend tocomplicate, and reveal the recessive and dominant relationship of their access elements.3. Focus on the variation of X in “X yilai” in the20th century since the reform andopening up, and point out its three major trends:(a) It is the continuous contest of accuracy and vagueness, complexity and simplicity.(b) X express vague time, the wording becoming fixed.(c) The construction of “yiizhi yilai” and “changqi yilai” has been widely used, indicatingthat the X toward grammaticalization.4. Reveal the inheritance hierarchy relationship of “PX yilai”,“X yilai”,“X lai”, andexplain the dynamic evolution between these three mechanisms. 5. From the textual cohesion and coherence point of view, partition pragmatic functions of"X yilai": prompt background, marked theme, narrative events, connect the preceding and thefollowing, indicate mutations, and use them to explain the dynamic development causes of “Xyilai” in contemporary Chinese.
