The Relationship Of Alienation Of College Students,Family Function And Personality

Alienation refers to the distance of individual and the other people, social and environment. The individual with alienation always feel lonely in relationships with other people, ignore the social environment and don’t like themselves. Alienation is a psychological feature, the individual has no interest in himself and the things around him, feel not harmonious when stay with other people and always in a negative emotion state. The individual alienation has undesirable effect on people’s life and society, and the study of the alienation of college students is less concerned.Based on the existing research results and the development of China social status, questionnaire and interview method is used to survey the alienation of college students’ status and the relationship of the alienation and family functions, personality characteristics. This paper’s research thought is:first, using The Adolescent Students Alienation Scale to survey college students. Second, using The Family Function Scale and The Big Five Personality Scale to survey college students’ family function and personality traits. Then, using the correlation analysis and regression analysis, path analysis to discuss the relationship of alienation and family background, family functions and the personality characteristics. Through the research, the conclusions are as follows:(1) Among the three dimensions of alienation, the score of environmental alienation is highest and interpersonal alienation is the lowest.(2) The college students’ alienation has no significant gender, grade differences.(3) The development of college students’ alienation declines as the grades up.(4) The alienation and family functions, the personality characteristics have significant correlation. The functions of the family intervention, emotional communication, problem solving can positively predict the alienation of college students. Extraversion, agreeableness and obligation of Big Five Personality Trait can positively predict the alienation of college students, neuroticism can negatively predict alienation of college students.(5) Family functions and the personality characteristics of college students have a significant effect on the alienation, and personality characteristics have an indirect influence on alienation through the influence of personality characteristics.
