Abnormal tone pronunciation is a common phenomenon for children with hearing impairments. Chinese is a tonal language. Tone, as well as vowels and consonants, can distinguish lexical meaning. Abnormal tone pronunciation seriously affects the accuracy and fluency of speech for children with hearing impairments. Thus, the treatment of tone pronunciation is rather important. Researches about the tone of children with hearing impairments mainly focused on the perception of tone, while few researches focused on the production of tone. Most of the researches focused on tone in monosyllable. Therefore, the purpose of thisresearch is to investigate the ability of the change and characteristics of different patterns ofbisyllable tone with the third tone of children with hearing impairments through acoustic analysis.Firstly, through acoustic analysis of the bisyllable tone with the third tone pronunciation of60normal hearing children, the following results can be got:(1)The grade of difficulty of changeable bisyllable tones with the third tone from simple to difficult is:third tone+fourth tone, third tone+second tone, third tone+first tone, third tone+third tone.(2)The change ability of bisyllable tones with the third tone of five years old children is much better than children of three and four years old. Four to five years old is the key period to gain the change ability of bisyllable tones with the third tone.Secondly, through the analysis of tone pronunciation for37children with hearing impairments, the following results can be got:(1) The change ability of bisyllable tones with the third tone of children with hearing impairments is worse than ordinary children.(2)The patterns of bisyllable tones with the third tone of children with hearing impairments and ordinary children are almost the same. But the tone of children with hearing impairments is much higher than ordinary children, and the control ability of children with hearing impairments is worse than ordinary children.On the base of former experiments, the following therapy suggestions of bisyllable tones with the third tone for children with hearing impairments can be got:(1)Strength the training of single third tone.(2)Firstly have the unchangeable bisyllable tones with the third tone:first tone+third tone, second tone+third tone, fourth tone+third tone.(3)When have the changeable bisyllable tones with the third tone, obey the grade of difficulty of changeable bisyllable tones with the third tone: third tone+fourth tone, third tone+second tone, third tone+first tone, third tone+third tone.
