Bitter Cold Anti-pyretic method is amongst the eight (great order cures) ofChinese Medicine. Regulating temperature holds the principal leading role intreating pathology changing illnesses, and is also fundamental to the curing oftemperature illnesses.Although the goal is without exception to eliminate irregularly heat, particularmethods can have a variety of different effects. The basis of the method lies inrelieving internal heat, having a detoxifying after effect. This will discuss the mechanics of febrile diseases, through theory andpractice, and will then investigate febrile diseases and Bitter Cold Anti-pyreticmethod’s relation to the application of treatment for diseases of the internal organs, elucidating the mechanics of Bitter Cold Anti-pyretic method for treatment ofmiscellaneous diseases. By summarizing the tutor’s clinical experience, this reportdiscusses five kinds of representative inflammation related illnesses. ChronicGastritis, the repeated breakout of oral ulcers, cardiac arrhythmia (tachycardia),climacterium and diabetes, are good for demonstrating Bitter Cold Anti-pyreticmethod syndromes and tcm treatments, providing systematic proof of Bitter ColdAnti-pyretic method’s suitability for the treatment of internal diseases. At the basis of this article, regarding certain kinds of internal disease, is the ideathat in the development of a disease inflammation appears at the same stage.During treatment, the pathological changes of anti-inflammatories must take effect.Illustrating this point, the dialectical foundation of using Bitter Cold Anti-pyreticmethod to treat internal diseases is in accordance with the dialectical concept of’treating different diseases with the same therapeutic principle.’Most injuries are owing to psychological problems - the failure of the sevenemotions - energy, depression, exhaustion or dietary problems, internal humidity;and also because of the six pathogenic elements that invade the body, reluctance, depression and exhaustion appear in an enflamed manifestation. These problems, and epidemic febrile diseases, once having broken out, exhaust and entoxify, butalthough pathological behavior and pathological changes are different, treatment andthe usage of Bitter Cold drug follows the same patterns and principles, achieving the same end.For one thing, the great number of modern clinical reports and experimentalresearch aim to discover and produce many kinds of Bitter Cold Anti-pyretic drughaving a great deal of good applications in raising immunity, in opposing internaltoxins, resisting inflammation, and combating the scorching of cells (cellulardivision). Going one step further, Bitter Cold Anti-pyretic drug’s have traditionallybeen used to treat infectious disease, giving priority to expansion, providing a goodbasis for clinical treatment and further experimentation.
