The Clinical Single Case Research By Contrast Oneself On The Effect Of The Lung And Spleen Qi Deficiency Syndrom And The Movement Endurance In Patients With Copd In Stable Period By Useing Huangqi Capsules

OBJECTIVEThe aim of the research was to assess the effect by using huangqi capsules on mainclinical symptoms,the distances of walking in 6 minutes,pulmonary function and thequality of life in patients with COPD in stable period of the lung and spleen qi deficiencysyndrome.METHOD6 patients with COPD Classified forⅠ-Ⅱlevel in stable period of the lung and spleen qideficiency syndrome,according to simple A-B sequence designs, adopting contrastoneself,nonrandom, one blind method.The first 4 weeks called the base line period gavehuangqi placebo capsules,4 pills one time,2 times a day,the later 4 weeks called cure periodgave huangqi capsules,4 pills one time,2 times a day,course of the observation was 8 weeksin total. And we could compare the chage condition of the main clinical symptoms of thepatients, the distances of walking in 6 minutes, the pulmonary function （FEV₁%、FEV₁/FVC、PEF%、MVV%） and the quality of life between the base line period and thecure period. The rank material used Wilcoxon test while the measurement material usedFriedman test to analysis the differences cause of the treatment,to see if it has statisticssignificance. With displaying the diagram form, we could see directly the change trend afterthe treatment.RESULTSIn the cure period of huangqi capsules, the clinical effect had improved （P＜0.05）and it could improve the main symptoms such as qi shortness, fatigue and spontaneoussweating （P＜0.05）;Could improve the distances of walking in 6 minutes during the cureperiod of huangqi capsules while there was no significant differents in base line period;During the study period, there was no significant differents in spiromentry results inFEV₁% and FEV₁/FVC group;PEF% in the cure period was ascending while there was nosignificant differents in the base line period; Also there was no significant differents inspirometry results in MVV% group, but through the graph we can see it was slightlyascending in the cure period;The average scores of the life quality had been decreased inhuangqi capsules group,with significant differents in the cure period compared with thebase line period.CONCLUSIONHuangqi capsules could improve the main symptoms in patient with COPD in stableperiod of the lung and spleen qi deficiency syndrome; had the trend to improve movementendurance and the patients’ quality of life,and may improve the strengthen of the breathmuscle.The sample of the clinical single case research is too few,it could only used to findthe trend cause of the cure and it was necessary to carry out big samples experiments in thefuture to verify the possibility.
