Objective: By the field investigation,this study finds out the main health problemsof residents, the status and influenced factors of demands and utilization of outpatientservices, and studies the equity, responsiveness and satisfaction of outpatient services, inorder to provide basis and recommendation for scientific organization of outpatientservices and reasonable allocation of health resources.Methods: Multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling was used to sampling in acity of13counties and158township streets. Family health inquiring survey was carriedout among usual residents of sample households. Built the database by the Epidata3.1software. Analyzed the data by the methods of descriptive statistics, chi-square test,logistic regression, and concentration index evaluation using SPSS16.0software.Results:1.The two-week prevalence rate was8.20%, that was10.43%in town and5.58%in countryside. The main type of two-week prevalence was chronic disease andaccounted for49.23%.60.14%of two-week prevalence patients thought that theseverity of the illness was in general.2.Multiple regression analysis showed that, sex, marriage condition, employmentcondition, chronic disease were the common influencing factors of two-weekprevalence rate of urban and rural presidents. Besides, income, and physical exerciseinfluenced the two-week prevalence rate of urban residents. Age, medical insurance,physical examination, and resident population, influenced the two-week prevalence rateof rural residents.3.The two-week physical treatment rate of residents was5.25%, that was6.72%in town and3.51%in countryside. Most residents chose primary health care institutions asthe first diagnosed agencies.54.47%of urban two-week prevalence patients chosecommunity health center and34.86%of rural two-week prevalence patients chosetownship clinics.4. Multiple regression analysis showed that, sex, employment condition, healthscore, and chronic disease were the common influencing factors of two-week physicaltreatment rate of urban and rural presidents. Besides, income, and family populationinfluenced the two-week physical treatment rate of urban residents. Age, medicalinsurance, distance of the nearest medical facility, and physical examination influencedthe two-week physical treatment rate of rural residents.5.The two-week prevalence rate of urban residents rose with increasing incomelevels and it had no statistical significance between different income groups. But thedifference in rural residents had statistical significance. Concentration index oftwo-week prevalence rate was0.031and-0.004of urban and rural residents separately.The concentration index of the two-week physical treatment rate, untreated rate,untreated rate due to financial difficulties among urban residents were0.021,0.009and0.023. Equity of outpatient service utilization was good among urban residents. Theconcentration index of the two-week physical treatment rate, untreated rate, untreatedrate due to financial difficulties among rural residents were-0.001,0.007and-0.296.Low-income rural residents could not utilize the outpatient services equitably.6.Most two-week prevalence patients tended to choose primary health careinstitutions as treatment agencies. Residents were unsatisfied with drug species andequipment conditions in primary health care institution.Conclusion: The demands of outpatient services are diversification. The mainproblem that threaten the health of residents is diseases of circulatory system andrespiratory. Age and chronic disease were main influencing factors of two-weekprevalence rate and two-week physical treatment rate of urban and rural presidents.There is room to improve the outpatient care utilization. Health equity of residents wasgood. Equity in outpatient service utilization was not good among rural residents. Residents were satisfied with the outpatient services of primary health care institutions.
