| Objective: The purpose of this paper was based on the study of dynamicquantitative analysis of the Serum β2-MG concentration through the use ofiodine125I β2-MG radioimmunoassay method in PLC, defining the trend ofserum concentration of β2-MG content between Liver cancer and non cancergroup, in order to explore the clinical significance of β2-MG in early diagnosis,differential diagnosis and relapse and metastasis of PLC.Methods: Serum samples form normal control (30cases), liverhemangioma group (35cases), liver cirrhosis group(35cases), PLC group (50cases), which were selected form the hospitalized and clinic of the firstaffiliated hospital of guangxi medical university in January2012to December2013. All groups were evaluated serumβ2-MG content by RIA method, andcompared dynamically change of β2–MG content in the PLC grouppreoperative with the postoperative. And compared value with the clinical dataof AFP have been collected,and analysis whether its for early PLC has potentialdiagnostic value combining ROC curve. Results: The serum β2-MG level in the PLC group were significantlyhigher than other three groups, the difference was statistically significant. Inaddition the serum β2-MG were significantly lower after surgical operation,with rising level when metastasis or recurrence occurred. Serum β2-MGcontent that is associated with PLC staging, serum β2-MG content of thestaged â…¢ of liver cancer patients is significantly higher than stagedâ… and stagedâ…¡, the difference was statistically significant. Through analysis group of thePLC and group of the LC various values of AFP cases and the serum β2-MGcontent by ROC curve found when AFP separated diagnosis of PLC the AUC=0.807, P<0.05. the difference was statistically significant. That has a certainability to distinguish between PLC and LC. Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was estimated with a maximal sensitivity72%and specificity88.6%with cut-off96.8ng/ml of AFP for the detection of PLC while sensitivity58%and specificity68.6%with cut-off3.26μg/mL of β2-MG. Serum β2-MG was available to distinguish LC and PLC (AUC=0.630,P<0.05), thedifference was statistically significant.When two indicators combined, thediagnostic efficiency was increased distinctively with sensitivity80.0%andspecificity88.6%.Conclusion: The present results demonstrated that serumβ2-MG levelswere elevated characteristic appearance in the early stages relapse andmetastasis of PLC, and the diagnostic efficiency was increased when β2-MGwas combined with AFP.This results demonstrated that serumβ2-MG contenthave good potential applications of early diagnosis and prognosis of PLC. |
