Objective: Research the effects of traumatic brain injury in acute and convalescentacupuncture intervention, Reveals the impact of TNF-α in brain tissue in rats withtraumatic brain injury and NSE expression in blood relationship with brain damage, thusexplain the mechanism of acupuncture for the treatment of traumatic brain injury and theimpact on the recovery of nerve function, Also provide experimental basis for clinicalacupuncture treatment of traumatic brain injury best intervention time.Methods: Selecting70SD rats and divided into three groups randomly, which are: blankgroup(group1,group2), model group(group1group2), acupuncture group (group1,group2); setting eCCI making TBI model (exclude the blank group). The next day, putacupuncture group1into the experiment, and in the day8, put acupuncture group2intothe experiment. Needling on acupoints: Renzhong; Quchi, Zusanli, Respectively, in the8th day and in the16th after the brain injury to drawn, observation, detection of relevantindicators:(1)Evaluation nerve function, balance ability and walking ability in rats.(2)By HE staining, observe the change brain tissue morphology in the lightmicroscope.(3)Measure dynamic changes of NSE in blood and TNF-α in model’s brain tissue,by ELISAResults: Acupuncture on brain injury model of rat brain tissue of TNF-αand blood NSEhas influential. Acupuncture group1, model1were observed after the first strike on the8th and acupuncture group2, model2were observed in the16thof their performance innerve function, balance ability and walking ability. The results show that nerve function,balance and walking ability of Acupuncture group1better than acupuncture group2、model groups, worse than blank groups; nerve function, balance and walking ability of acupuncture group2better than model groups.Using HE staining light microscope morphological observing the changes in braintissue are: brain cell gets intensive in blank group, and the size and shape can beobserved clearly; less cortical cells, neuronal atrophy, neuronal cells necrosis appeared inmodel group; cytoplasm stained, nuclear is not clear, necrotic cell reducing and bettercirculation are observed in the acupuncture group.Detection of TNF-α in brain tissue and blood NSE levels by ELISA method, modelgroup and acupuncture group are significantly different with blank group after injury inrats(P <0.01); Acupuncture group1has a big difference with Acupuncture group2(P<0.01), Acupuncture group has a big difference with model group(P<0.01).Conclusion: Acupuncture should be applied into the TBI rats treatment earlier, in orderto make a full use of acupuncture,s regulating effects to central nervous system as soon aspossible, restrain TNF-α release in brain tissue and expression of serum NSE.
