Background And Objective:In recent years, domestic and foreign researchers discovered an important tumor metastasis-related genes (Metastasis-associated genes, MTA) family, MTA2(Metastasis-associated protein2) is one of the important members. Studies have shown that MTA2expressed in a variety of tumor cells and are closely related with the degree of tumor differentiation, depth of invasion, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis. Matrix metalloproteinase-7(MMP-7) is the main enzymes which can degrade the major structural protein which constitutes extracellular matrix (ECM) and the basement membrane, It plays an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis. MTA2’s expression in colon cancer and whether it has a significant correlation between MMP-7with protein has not been reported. This study researches expression of MTA2and MMP-7in colon cancer and their relationship.Method:60cases of operation excision specimens of colon cancer patients and30cases of adjacent tissues are selected to detect the expression of MTA2and MMP-7protein by Immunohistochemical SP method.Result:There are36cases of MTA2positive expression in the 60cases of colon cancer, the positive rate was60%. And3case in the30cases of tissue adjacent to cancer, the positive rate was10%, it has statistical significance in comparison (%2=20.362, p=0.000<0.5). There are12cases of MTA2positive expression in30cases of the high-middle level colon cancer, the positive rate was40%. There are24cases of MTA2positive expression in30cases of the low level colon cancer, the positive rate was80%, it has statistical significance in comparison (x2=10.000, p=0.002<0.5). There are8cases of MTA2positive expression in24cases of lymph node metastasis of colon cancer, the positive rate was33%, There are28cases of MTA2positive expression in36cases of lymph node metastasis of colon cancer, the positive rate was78%, it has statistical significance in comparison (%2=11.852, p=0.001<0.5). There are32cases of MTA2positive expression in54cases of colon cancer which is not associated with distant metastasis, the positive rate was59%, There are4cases of MTA2positive expression in six cases of colon cancer with distant metastasis, the positive rate was67%, it has not statistically significant in comparison (x2=0.123, p=0.725>0.5). There are7cases of MTA2positive expression in25cases of the TNM staging I-II of colon cancer, the positive rate was28%, There are29cases of MTA2positive expression in35cases of TNM staging III-IV of colon cancer, the positive rate was83%, it has statistically significant in comparison (x2=18.286, p=0.000<0.5).There are32cases of MMP-7positive expression in the60cases of colon cancer, the positive rate was53%. And5case in the30cases of tissue adjacent to cancer, the positive rate was17%, it has statistical significance in comparison (x2=11.107, p=0.001<0.5). There are10cases of MMP-7positive expression in30cases of the high-middle level colon cancer, the positive rate was33%. There are22cases of MMP-7positive expression in30cases of the low level colon cancer, the positive rate was73%, it has statistical significance in comparison (%2=9.643, p=0.002<0.5). There are6cases of MMP-7positive expression in24cases of lymph node metastasis of colon cancer, the positive rate was25%, There are26cases of MMP-7positive expression in36cases of lymph node metastasis of colon cancer, the positive rate was72%, it has statistical significance in comparison (%2=12.902, p=0.000<0.5). There are29cases of MMP-7positive expression in54cases of colon cancer which is not associated with distant metastasis, the positive rate was54%, There are3cases of MMP-7positive expression in6cases of colon cancer with distant metastasis, the positive rate was60%, it has not statistically significant in comparison(x2=0.030, p=0.863>0.5). There are5cases of MMP-7positive expression in25cases of the TNM staging Ⅰ-Ⅱ of colon cancer, the positive rate was20%, There are27cases of MMP-7positive expression in35cases of TNM staging Ⅲ-IV of colon cancer, the positive rate was77%, it has statistically significant in comparison (%2=21.875, p=0.000<0.5).Conclusion:MTA2and MMP-7expression in colon cancer were significantly higher than the adjacent tissues, it was associated with the differentiation degree, clinical staging and lymph node metastasis; this suggests that MTA2and MMP-7were related to the malignant degree of colorectal cancer. It promoted the invasion and metastasis of colon cancer and participated to the development process of colorectal cancer, so it may be used as a reference to judge the prognosis of colon cancer.
