Objectives:To explore the effects of a community-based comprehensive nursing intervention on diabetic patients by measuring the indicators:metabolic control, clinical effect and quality of life, and to provide theoretical guidance for comprehensive prevention and treatment of community-dwelling diabetic patients.Methods:69diabetic patients were selected by convenient sampling from the community belong to People’s Hospital of Rizhao. A community-based comprehensive intervention was conducted by community nurse intervention group. Lecture, discussion and Diabetes health handbook assignment were employed in the intervention process. The intervention was conducted once a week,60minutes each time and persisting at least6months. The clinical and biochemical parameters, clinical effects and quality of life was compared between the baseline and after the intervention. Biochemical indexes were determined by Hitachi7600-110E automatic biochemical analyzer and the quality of life was assessed by SF-36Life Quality Questionnaire. SPSS17.0was used to conduct statistical analysis. Descriptive analysis was used to describe the general information and t test was used to compare the difference of all observed indicators between the baseline and after the intervention.Results:1.The levels of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, postprandial2h glucose, glycosylated serum protein, triglyceride, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein were significantly decreased, and the high density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were significantly higher after intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).2.Clinical effect of diabetes patients was significantly improved after intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).3.The score of RP, RE, SF, BP, VT, GH, MH and composite index was significantly improved after intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:The community-based nursing intervention can significantly improve the metabolic control and the quality of life in community dwelling patients with diabetes mellitus and has a better impact on clinical efficacy of diabetes.
