Objective To compare the effects of remineralization of different commercial remineralizing products on decalcified enamel models by microhardness tester and scanning electron microscope(SEM).Method90teeth extracted from patients referred for orthodontic treatment were randomly and equally divided into6groups with different managements,15teeth in each group. There was no management in group A. Teeth in group B、C、D、E and F were treated with decalcified management. Group C、D、E and F were immersing into artificial saliva after demineralization. The buccal surface of teeth in group D、E and F were respectively applied with different remineralizing products of0.1%fluoride varnish、Durophat and GC tooth mousse plus before putting into artificial saliva. Microhardness of enamel surface of all samples was measured by microhardness tester. The morphology of samples in6groups was observed by SEM. The data of all samples were processed by SPSS16.0statistical software. mono factor analysis of variance was used to analysis. LSD-t statistical test was used to compare the data among groups. There was statistical difference when P<0.05.Results①Results of microhardness:group A is the highest and group B is the lowest in microhardness. Microhardness of group D、E and F are higher than that of group C. Group F is higher than that of group D and group E in microhardness. There are significantly statistical differences in all above(P=0.000,P<0.05). there is no statistical difference between group D and group E (P=0.355,P>0.05).②Results of SEM:Group A appears the normal structure of enamel, the enamel rods in group B are dissolved and the regular figure is destroyed to be alveolate. Mineralization is deposited in the surface of decalcified enamel in group C、D、E and F, the quantity of mineralization is different in the4groups:the quantity of mineralization is maximum in group F and minimum in group C, while the quantity is equal between group D and group E.Conclusions①All of GC tooth mousse plus、Durophat、0.1%fluoride varnish and artificial saliva possess ability of remineralization on decalcified enamel, so as to elevate the microhardness and improve the micro-morphology.②Compared to artificial saliva, Durophat、0.1%fluoride varnish and GC tooth mousse plus can enhance the effect of remineralization, the effect of GC tooth mousse plus is the best, Durophat and0.1%fluoride varnish are both in the secondary place. There is no difference between Durophat and0.1%fluoride varnish on remineralizing ability.③Microhardness of normal enamel is the highest, decalcified enamel treated with remineralization of remineralizing products can not return to the level of microhardness of normal enamel in a short time.
