obiectives:To study the expression and clinical significance of EGFR,C-erbB-2in gastric carcinoma tissue, which provided a theoretical basis on the combined therapy to gastric carcinoma. Methods:To detect expression in101gastric carcinoma and20normal gastric tissue by immunohistochemistry assay(PV-6000).Results:1. In101specimens of gastric cancer, the positive expression rates of EGFR and C-erbB-2were44.56%(45/101) and38.6%(39/101), respectively. In20specimens of normal gastric tissues, there was no positive expression of EGFR or C-erbB-2. There was significant difference between the tumor and normal tissues (P<0.01).2. The positive expression rates of EGFR and C-erbB-2between clinical stage Ⅰ+Ⅱ and Ⅲ+Ⅳ gastric carcinoma was significantly different (P<0.05). EGFR and C-erB-2were both differently expressed in the cases which invaded to and out of the serous membrane and in the cases which located in the mucus membrane and muscular layer (P<0.05)The positive expression rates of EGFR and C-erbB-2in gastric carcinoma without lymphatic node metastasis were markedly different from the cases with lymphatic node metastasis. However, the expression of EGFR and C-erbB-2in gastric carcinoma were not related to age, sex, position, degree of differentiation (P>0.05).3. The expression of EGFR was positive correlated with the expression of C-erbB-2in ganstric carcinoma.Conclusions:1. EGFR and C-erbB-2may play important roles in the carcinogenesis, infiltration and metastasis in gastric carcinoma, and may be regarded as the important factors for predicting the prognosis of gastric carcinoma.2. EGFR in combination with C-erbB-2participate in the carcinogenesis, development and aggression of gastric carcinoma.3. The expressions of EGFR and C-erbB-2may be as the clinic evidence and detecting factors for the targeted therapy of gastric carcinoma, and provide theoretical evidence for the gene targeted therapy of gastric carcinoma.
