Objective: To summarize the mid-term effectiveness of K-rodnon-fusion internal fixation treatment of degenerative lumbardisease. Methods: From February2009to October2010.A retrospectiveanalysis was carried out on50patients(32males and18females)diagnosed as degenerative lumbar disease and treatedwith K-rod non-fusion internal fixation dynamic device, who hadbeen followed up for1year at least, the average age was38years(range,19-58years).The results were assessed by JapaneseOrthopedic Association(JOA)scores, visual analoguescale(VAS)scores,Oswestry disability index(ODl),and the rang ofmobility of the responsible segments were measured on X—filmbefore the operation and at last follow-up.Results: The50patients Were followed up for26.4months(range,12—36months).At the last follow—up,JOA,ODIand VAS scores of patients with dynamic device instrumentationwere improved by73.34%±8.7%、37.18%±15.17%、77.35%±11.17 %;JOA,ODI and VAS scores of patients treated with dynamic andfusion device instrumentation were improved by76.37%±9.82%、30.5%±5.15%、71.68%±9.79%; There were no significantdifference in the rang of mobility of the responsible segments(P>O.05).There was significant difference in the rang of mobility ofthe whole lumbar spine。Conclusion: The mid—term effectiveness illustrate that theK-rod non—fusion fixation is a reliable for degenerative lumbardisease, as it remained disc height and the rang of mobility of theresponsible segments and improved the life quality of the patients.
