Background:Gastric cancer is a disease that serious threat to human healthand life and the morbidity and mortality are high. Current research ongastric cancer chemoprevention focuses on the treatment of Helicobacterpylori (Helicobacter prlori, HP) infection, Cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)inhibitors, the folate, the selenium, the Vitamin c and so on. Studies haveshown that there have been obvious bacterial resistance and side effectsvia using antibiotics. Therefore we need novel molecular-targetedmedicine. Modern research shows that glycyrrhetinic acid and itsderivatives are important and effective ingredient in licorice havinganti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, anti-tumor and enhancing immunefunction and so on.18β-glycyrrhetinic acid also plays a role on stoppingtumor growth. Therefore we use it to look for a new kind of drug ongastric cancer prevention. Tumor morphology of transgenic animals isvery similar to the naturally occurring tumors. And it has high specificity. Therefore it has high advantage on the research of gastric cancer.Objetive:Via comparing the weight of the mice, the size of gastrictumour and the immunohistochemistry, we look for a new kind of drug on gastric cancer prevention. Methods:The transgenic mice were divided into two groups, namelycontrol group and restrained by18β-glycyrrhetinic acid group. To studythe impact of18β-glycyrrhetinic acid on transgenic mice through thegeneral shape specimen study,,HE staining pathological examination, aswell as gastric tissue specimens by immunohistochemical.Result:The sizes of the tumors of the control group are obviously lagerthan the18β-glycyrrhetinic acid treatment group. And the gastric tissuecox-2and IL-1β immunohistochemical staining confirmed that18β-glycyrrhetinic acid significantly inhibited the cell proliferation. Conclusion:Successfully established transgenic mice model. The use of18β-glycyrrhetinic acid can reduce inflammation and cell proliferation.
