The Clinical Effect Of Curing Dysarthria-Retroflex Barriers Caused By Pseudo-Bulbar Palsy By Acupuncture

Objective:We try to cure retroflex barriers caused by pseudo-bulbar palsy by two different methods, acupuncture points on the neck and conventional acupuncture points. Compared with the two different treatment effect, we can evaluate objectively effectiveness of curing retroflex barriers caused by pseudo-bulbar palsy by acupuncture points of the tongue.Methods:We randomly divide60patients, who conform to the diagnostic criteria of pseudo-bulbar palsy, into two groups to do research. One group,30patients, are cured by acupuncture points on the neck. The other group,30patients, are cured by conventional acupuncture points. The treatment takes four weeks, six times a week with continuous days, and twice a day. We compare the improvement in retroflex barriers between the two groups after the treatment. Then, we statistically analyze the treatment data, taking Frenchay dysarthria assessment and the grading system of tongue function as evaluation indicators.Results:(1)Clinical observations show that there are obvious improvements in the two groups between pre-therapy and post-treatment, involving many aspects, such as movement of lips and tongue, speech articulation, the tone and sound volume(P<0.05).(2)We can conclude that the total effective rate of the group treated by acupuncture points on the neck is86.66%, and the rate of the other group is73.33%, by comparing the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusions:(1)Both medical methods, acupuncture points on the neck and conventional acupuncture points, can improve degree of retroflex barriers caused by pseudo-bulbar palsy.(2)Acupuncture points on the neck can effectively improve movement of lips and tongue, speech articulation and other symptoms caused by pseudo-bulbar palsy. (3)The curative effect of the group treated by acupuncture points on the neck is better than the other.
