Retrospective Analysis The Treatment Of ESMD With Combined PDT Or TTT And Decoction Of Guishao Dihuang

Objective:By collected the case information of Guishao Dihuang Decoction Combined with photodynamic therapy (PDT) and transpupillary thermotherapy (TTT) in treating exudative age-related macular degeneration (ESMD), for retrospective comparison, discussion of using Chinese medicine combined with PDT or TTT two methods for ESMD in different periods choroidal neovascularization (CNV) effect between the treatment and indication, provides the reference for the clinical treatment of choice.Methods:Collected the case information of nearly10years in our hospital ESMD patients whom were in accordance with traditional Chinese medicine combined with laser, total of61cases (78eyes). Record the general data, select the complete case information into the case report form(CRF), according to the treatment consists of Decoction of Guishao Dihuang combined with PDT group and Decoction of Guishao Dihuang combined with TTT group, the ESMD data of patients with similar pairs, the effect, two group of recurrence rate, repeated treatment rate and treatment expenses.Results:1. By treatment of Decoction of Guishao Dihuang, the two groups of vision, exudation, hemorrhage macular edema were improved, the difference had no statistical significance (P>0.05).2. After laser treatment:(1) At1months and3months of two groups of visual acuity showed no statistical significance (P>0.05),6months after the two groups of visual acuity were significantly different (P<0.05), focal distance foveal1PD range two groups of visual acuity compared there are significant differences (P<0.05), focal distance foveal1PD range to improve the situation showed no statistical significance (P>0.05).(2) Two groups after treatment of hemorrhage, macular edema, exudation and improvement of CNV leakage showed no statistical significance (P>0.05), no leakage rate can be seen Decoction of Guishao Dihuang combined with TTT on the leakage of CNV inhibition was in Decoction of Guishao Dihuang combined with PDT, and appears earlier. No statistically significant differences between the3. The overall efficacy of the two groups (P>0.05).4. The two groups during follow-up for half a year recurrence, no statistical significance (P>0.05). Repeated treatment rate of two groups after treatment and repeated visual acuity showed no statistical significance (P>0.05).5. The group of Decoction of Guishao Dihuang combined with PDT was much higher than that of TTT group of Decoction of Guishao Dihuang combined with TTT cost.Conclusion:Use Decoction of Guishao Dihuang in around of laser therapy to improve the treatment of early vision plays a significant role. The effect of traditional Chinese medicine combined with PDT or TTT treatment overall effect is basically the same, the treatment can be repeated. Guishao Huang Tang combined TTT in making CNV leakage suppression effect than the good joint PDT appeared early. PDT treatment of subfoveal CNV is safer. If the energy can be master appropriate, prudent use of TTT can achieve good results.
