Theoretical And Clinical Study On The Therapy Of Exudative Age-related Macular Degeneration Based On The Collateral Theory

Objective: On the basis of the Collateral Theory ,from the point of penetration about collateral disease ,the Exudative age-related macular degeneration patient were observed with TCM and collateral puncture about the vision, Amsler list ,the contrast sensitivity ,the macular sign and FFA, the new thinking and methods of the therapy of Exudative age-related macular degeneration were explored. Methods: 45(68 eyes) patients with AMD are divided into test group(n=23,35 eyes) and control group(n=22,33 eyes) randomly. The test group was treated with modified Zhu Jing Wan combined with DAHUANGZHECONG PILL and Acupuncturing, based on the important acupuncture point about the temples , Jingming Tongziliao Hegu Quchi Zusanli Guangming Fenglong Zhaohai ,and syndrome differentiation ,prompt prick integrated horizontal needle .while the Control group was treated based on syndrome differentiation and treatment. The treatment of AMD patients were observed about the vision, Amsler list ,the contrast sensitivity ,the macular sign and FFA ,and contacted to the control group ,to appraise the clinical therapy .Result: The clinical study showed that (1) the modified Zhu Jing Wan with DAHUANGZHECONG PILL and Acupuncturing can improve the vision obviously and the efficiency is better than control group(P<0.05).(2) the macular sign of the test group was improved than the control group .especially on absorbed bleeding(P<0.05).(3) FFA showed that the seepage of CNV and the oedema of macular area was taken in particularly than the control group(P<0.05).(4) Amsler list conclude that The effective rate of Amsler list was 89.3%.(5)At the same time ,the contrast sensitivity showed significantly increase after treatment(P<0.05).Compared with pre-treatment .Conclusion: The effect prominent of Treating AMD by TCM and collateral puncture under the guidance of the Collateral Disease Theory, could effectively improve the vision, promote the absorption of blooding and Amsler list ,the contrast sensitivity and FFA ,especially on improve of the vision and promote the absorption of blooding. The clinical study indicated that the effects of promoting blood flow and removing stasis to the point of pathogenesis of AMD ,could inhibit the seepage and bleeding of CNV effectively ,and prevent the disease from going on . So it is worthy of further research.
