This study is to investigate the antimicrobial effect of b WildChrysanthemum on Porphyromonas gingivalis(P.g),and the effect ofWild Chrysanthemum on the activity of trypsin-like protease (TLP)produced by P.g,and try to provide the evidence of the effect of WildChrysanthemum on the treatment of periodontal disease.P.g ATCC33277was chosen as the experimental bacterial strain. The liquid media two-fold dilution method was used to study theantimicrobial effect of Wild Chrysanthemum. The Wild Chrysanthemumwas diluted into ten different concentration, and each inoculated with asuspension of P.g (108CFU/ml). After48h of incubation at37℃underanaerobic conditions, the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) ofWild Chrysanthemum was determined. Then after adding differentconcentrations of Wild Chrysanthemum into BHI media, anaerobictechnique was used to cultivate P.g. the activity of TLP was assayed. The result showed us that Wild Chrysanthemum inhibited thegrowth and proliferation of P.g effectively. MIC of Wild Chrysanthemum was1.25mg/ml. The Wild Chrysanthemum alsoinhibited the activity of trypsin-like protease (TLP) produced by P.g.So we can get a conclusion that Wild Chrysanthemum inhibited thegrowth and proliferation of P.g,also inhibited the activity of trypsin-likeprotease (TLP) of P.g.
