Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (HT) is a common autoimmune disease. Main symptomsis goiter, together with the changes of thyroid function, especially in hypothyroidism.The treatment of HT for western medicine has certain clinical effects, but the sideeffects and easy recurrence need to be solved in clinical treatment. The treatment ofHT for traditional Chinese medicine has no obvious side effects, and stable curativeeffect, which can integrally adjust local lesions and systemic symptom for the patientsand has been recognized by the broad masses of patients and clinicians. By observingthe experimentation indexes of Xiangyuan mixture on the rats with experimentalautoimmune thyroiditis laboratory parameters (EAT) and exploring the theoreticalbasis for the component of Xiangyuan mixture and the mechanism of Xiangyuanmixture to HT, this research provides a theoretical basis for the using Xiangyuanmixture treatment of HT. And this research is divided into three parts: Experiment1:The morphological observation for EAT rats’ thyroid tissue; Experiment2: The effectfor Xiangyuan mixture to the TPO-Ab and TG-Ab of EAT rats; Experiment3: Theeffect for Xiangyuan mixture to the IL-1, IL-6and TNF-α of EAT rats. In addicition,we have observed10clinical patients with HT before and after Xiangyuan mixturetreatment.Experiment1: The morphological observation for EAT rats’ thyroid tissueObjective: Through pathologically morphological observation for each EAT rats’thyroid tissue, we analysis the modeling results and the comparison of drug efficacy.Methods: Copy the EAT rats’ model according to the successful cases; Medicineeach group of rats; Make the rats’ thyroid tissue sections.Results:1. Thyroid cells (TEC) of normal group are neat layout and uniform, and the folliclesappear circular or elliptic which are dyed pink, and the lymphocytes and plasmacells not infiltrate.2. TEC of chinese traditional medicine group layout arrangement well, and thelymphocytes are not infiltrating, and the plasma cells not infiltrate into thefollicles, whose form present regular.3. There still exist some lymphocytes and plasma cells between the follicles and TECof western medicine group, the follicles are intact, few destroyed. 4. Thyroid follicles of model group arrange disorderly and have different size, whichshow the mass of damage or shranking to flat shape and being dyed pink, and theplasma cells infiltrate into the follicles, and the lymphocytes infiltrate around thefollicles obviously.Conclusion: Pathological morphology’s results prove that Xiangyuan mixture hasobviously therapeutic effect to EAT, whose treatment is far better than Tripterygiumglycosides.Experiment2: The effect for Xiangyuan mixture to the TPO-Ab and TG-Ab ofEAT ratsObjective: Through the test on each group of EAT rats’ TPO-Ab, TG-Ab, we analysisthe modeling results and compare the drug efficacy of each group of EAT rats.Methods: Copy the EAT rats’ model according to the successful cases; Medicineeach group of rats; Collect serum after obtaining some blood of experimental rats’eyes; Index detection on TG-Ab, TPO-Ab by the method of ELISA; Analysis varianceof the TG-Ab, TPO-Ab detection index data by SPSS17.0statistical software.Results:1. TPO-Ab on model group compared with normal group increase by110%; TG-Abon model group compared with normal group increase by160%.2. TPO-Ab on chinese traditional medicine group compared with model groupdecrease by99%; TPO-Ab on western medicine group compared with modelgroup decrease by47%.3. TPO-Ab on chinese traditional medicine group compared with western medicinegroup decrease by35%; TG-Ab on chinese traditional medicine group comparedwith western medicine group decrease by24%.Conclusion:1. Xiangyuan mixture and Tripterygium glycosides can obviously decrease the TPO-Ab, and the former is superior to the latter.2. Xiangyuan mixture and Tripterygium glycosides can decrease the TG-Ab, and theformer is superior to the latter. Experiment3: The effect for Xiangyuan mixture to the IL-1, IL-6and TNF-α ofEAT ratsObjective: Through the test on each group of EAT rats’ IL-1, IL-6and TNF-α, weanalysis the modeling results and compare the drug efficacy of each group of EATrats.Methods: Copy the EAT rats’ model according to the successful cases; Medicineeach group of rats; Collect serum after obtaining some blood of experimental rats’eyes; Index detection on IL-1, IL-6and TNF-α by the method of ELISA; Analysisvariance of the IL-1, IL-6and TNF-α detection index data by SPSS17.0statisticalsoftware.Results:1. Model group compared with normal group: IL-1increase by122%; IL-6increaseby101%; TNF-α increase by19%.2. IL-1on chinese traditional medicine group compared with model group decrease by83%; IL-1on western medicine group compared with model group decrease by37%.3. Chinese traditional medicine group compared with western medicine group: IL-1decrease by34%; IL-6decrease by49%; TNF-α decrease by2%.4. IL-6on chinese traditional medicine group compared with normal group decreaseby88%; IL-6on western medicine group compared with model group decreaseby26%.5. TNF-α on chinese traditional medicine group compared with normal groupdecrease by15%; TNF-α on western medicine group compared with modelgroup decrease by12%; TNF-α on chinese traditional medicine group comparedwith western medicine group decrease by2%.Conclusion:1. Xiangyuan mixture and Tripterygium glycosides can decrease the IL-1, and theformer is superior to the latter.2. Xiangyuan mixture and Tripterygium glycosides can decrease the IL-6, and theformer is superior to the latter.3. Xiangyuan mixture and Tripterygium glycosides of TNF-α level performancedifference is not obvious.
