Objection:To study the polymorphism of NAD(P)H:Quinone Oxidoreductase1(NQO1) gene in coronary heart.disease(CHD) and normal control, and to investigate the association of NQO1gene polymorphism with the susceptibility to coronary heart disease in Chinese population. Methods:Using the PCR-RFLP method, the NQO1gene polymorphism in296CHD patients confirmed with angiograph and286normal controls were detected. Further, these genotypes were correlated with blood lipid profile.Result:The NQO1genotypes distribution as well as Allele frequencies in CHD patients were no significantly different from the normal subjects (P>0.05).Male were more prevalent in CHD patients. Systolic blood pressure and LDL-C level were higher in CHD group than the control group. HDL-C were significantly reduced in group with CHD compared to the other group. The level of low density lipoprotein (94.3±26.2vs.76.8±17.4and97.1±27.8vs.76.8±17.4;P<0.01) and total cholesterol showed significant increase for NQO1-T/T and-GT genotypes in Tukey’s Post hoc analysis (169.2±31.8vs.144.9±22.5and164.1±38.3vs.144.9±22.5;P<0.01) among the patients with CHD.Conclusion:The NQO1gene polymorphism is might no associated with the development of CHD. The NQO1single nucleotide genotype may affect blood lipid metabolic process.
