This paper summarized the traditional Chinese medicine understanding of diarrhea, introduced Zhang Xichun and his academic thoughts, mainly analyzed the69prescriptions for treating the diarrhea in Yi xue zhong zhong can xi lu.The prescriptions, which have the treatment action of diarrhea, such as loose bowels, vomiting and diarrhoea, thin sloppy stool, Increased stool frequency, diarrgea, watery stool, dysentery, and so on, were been chosen for analyse in Yi xue zhong zhong can xi lu. There is a total of69prescriptions. The prescriptions were located in Hong Yin’s hot side, hong Yang, to treat dysentery, diarrhea, typhoid party, warm disease cure, treat cholera, dysentery, urine disease door epilepsy, antispasmodic eccentric door, the door warm disease, malaria, cholera door and women. Through the statistical analysis, it indicates that Mr.Zhang always used ginseng, atractylodes, yam, glycyrrhiza to tonifying qi spleen, used radix rehmanniae, longan meat, radix paeoniae alba, cornel to nourishing Yin blood, used talc, gypsum,chinese pulsatilla to dispelling dampness, and used rhizoma zingiberis to releasing cold temperature in Yi xue zhong zhong can xi lu. We divide the treatment into three syndrome types. They are the accumulated damp-heat,the virtual cold of spleen and stomach,the deficiency of qi and blood.When Mr. Zhang was curing the diarrhoea of the accumulated damp-heat, he used talc, gypsum, chinese radix paeoniae alba, pulsatilla, yam, to dispelling dampness in Yi xue zhong zhong can xi lu. The compatibility of medicines, which were been used by him, were talc and yam, gypsum and pulsatilla, chinese radix paeoniae alba and yam.When Mr.Zhang was curing the diarrhoea of the virtual cold of spleen and stomach, he used dried ginger, rhizoma atractylodis macrocephalae, yam, licorice, radix paeoniae alba to Warming Yang and Han and replenishing Qi to invigorate the spleen in Yi xue zhong zhong can xi lu. The compatibility of medicines, which were been used by him, were dried ginger and rhizoma atractylodis macrocephalae, dried ginger and yam, rhizoma atractylodis macrocephalae and yam.When Mr.Zhang was curing the diarrhoea of the deficiency of qi and blood, he used yam, licorice, radix paeoniae alba, longan meat, radix rehmanniae preparata, cornel to supplementing Qi, nourishing blood and soliding intestinal antidiarrheal in Yi xue zhong zhong can xi lu.
