Objective: To investigate the application of Vertebroplasty (percutaneous vertebroplasty, PVP) in the treatment of post-menopausal women thoracolumbar osteoporotic fractures. In order to provide a theoretical basis for clinical fractures in post-menopausal women thoracolumbar osteoporotic intervention. Methods:From March2011to June2012in the Xinjiang Medical University Affiliated Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Orthopedic Center,72patients were diagnosed with post-menopausal osteoporotic fractures outpatient or inpatient. The patients were randomly divided into control group and treatment group, the control group were treated with vertebroplasty treatment, the treatment group in vertebroplasty treatment of Chinese Herbs. Clinical experience to develop kidney virtual loss for osteoporosis. Analgesic effect Huskission for visual analog scale (visual analogue scale, VAS) was used to evaluate the degree of pain relief. Results:Before treatment, after1month of treatment and after3months of treatment, the VAS scores of the control group were (8.000±0.676),(236.1±1.944),(1.306±2.067) scores. Before treatment,1month of treatment and after3months of treatment, VAS scores of treatment group were (8.027±0.654),(1.583±1.645),(0.416±1.518) scores, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05), after3months VAS scores of the treatment group was significantly lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). In the treatment group with different treatment time (before treatment, after1month of treatment and after3months of treatment), the VAS score difference was statistically significant (F=333.47, P=0.000), VAS score between the control group with different treatment time was statistically significant (F=164.353, P=0.000). In the control group and the treatment group, VAS scores of one month and three months after the treatment were lower than before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05) and a control group after treatment, pain relief effective in29cases (80.56%), ineffective in7cases (19.44%),1month after treatment, pain relief effective in31cases (86.11%), ineffective in5cases (13.89%), the two groups in the treatment of a pain relief the difference was not statistically significant (X2=0.400, P=0.527).In the control group,3months after treatment, pain relief effective in31cases (86.11%), ineffective in5cases (13.89%).In the treatment group after3months, pain relief effective in33cases, the efficient ratio was91.67%, and ineffective with3cases (8.33%), the two groups in the3months of treatment pain relief was no significant difference (X2=1.162, P=0.281), Conclusion: Vertebroplasty combined with Chinese Herbs and separate use of vertebroplasty in the treatment of post-menopausal women thoracolumbar osteoporotic fractures has a similar effect on the recovery of the ability of patients with active vertebroplasty combined internal medicine treatment of female menopause thoracolumbar osteoporotic fractures more quickly and effectively relieve pain, in order to more effectively improve the patient’s quality of life.
