Blood pressure is the direct assessment of cardiovascular function, an effective physiological parameters and an important indicator of clinical monitoring of signs. Ambulatory blood pressure is the measurement results of24-hour blood pressure. Ambulatory blood pressure can help doctors to diagnose hypertension and pseudo-hypertension accurately and effectively. Monitoring the blood pressure of the patients with hypertension has important significance in guiding the patient’s behavior and medication. In recent years, Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring system has become a hot topic in research area.In this paper, the portable ambulatory blood pressure monitoring system which is based on Oscillometric principle by summarizing the methods of measuring blood pressure. Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is a long-time blood pressure monitoring instrument which is mobile, portable. Therefore the stability of the signal, the exclusion of motion interference, and the system power consumption is the focus of the paper. The system consists of power module, the driver modules of pump and valve, timing module, data storage module, LCD module, communication module and so on. The blood pressure monitoring system in this paper achieves the function of continuous real-time measurement of blood pressure, storing raw data, and real-time LCD display, based on the main controller of MSP430F5529. The system can upload the raw data via USB or wireless communication module Bluetooth to PC. PC can obtain the trends in blood pressure by analysis the data.Some experiments have been designed to verify the performance and indicators of the system. Experimental results show that the system has a short measurement, which means that the system can measure blood pressure in25S and the system also has a high precision which the error range is only±3mmHg when testing BP PUMP2.The system also has a low power consumption, it can measure blood300times based on two AA batteries and the measurement data has a high stability. The blood pressure monitoring system in this paper has the characteristic of high accuracy, high stability, low power consumption and anti-interference ability. The indicators of the system are in leading level compare to the similar instruments.
