Efficacy Of Liu He Dan In Patients With Acute Pancreatitis

Objective:To observe the efficacy and satety of Liuhe Dan when it was used externally to treat acute pancreatitis (AP).Methods:115AP patients hospitalized and diagnosed in West China Hospital,from June2011and August2011were onrolled.To compare the relevant clinical data about the length of hospitalization, re-feeding time, duration of abdominal pain,laboratory examination,and other relevant information. Then according to whether used Liuhe Dan divided into control group (August admission) and treatment group (June admission) to observe the efficacy and satety of Liuhe Dan on AP.Results:115patients,71males and44females,enrolled with an age range of16years to90years,mean(50.01±16.05years).The ratio of male and female was1.75:1The patients were divided into observation group(n=58) and control group(n=57).In treatment group,the patients received the Liuhe Dan treatment and those in control group received the routine treatment. During hospitalization, the occurrence of pancreatic tissue necrosis, infection, pancreatic pseudocyst,bleeding, respiratory failure, the control group respectively were9(15.8%),2(3.5%),4(7,0%),2(3.5%),6(10.5%), the treatment group were4(6.9%),1(1.7%),3(5.2%),0case,5(8.6%). Three cases occurred skin allergies. Effects:(1)Re-feeding time:The control group was6.70±4.11days,the treatment group was5.20±2.52days (P<0.05). In SAP, the control group was7.70±4.40days,the treatment group was5.26±1.79days (P<0.05).In MAP,the control group was5.21±3.20days,the treatment group was5.17±2.94days (P>0.05).(2) The length of hospitalization:in the congtrol group was12.44±6.95days,and the treatment group was11.28±6.56days(P>0.05).(3)Duration of abdominal pain:in the congtrol group was6.04±4.36days,and the treatment group was5.40±3.69days (P>0.05)Conclusion:1.Liuhe Dan can shorten the SAP patients’ re-feeding time.2.There were no obvious effect on the length of hospitalization, duration of abdominal pain, blood glucose, blood lipids and white blood cells when Liuhe Dan was used externally to treat AP.3.In addition to skin allergies, there was no obvious side effect and serious adverse reaction.
