Objective:To study the sleep quality of the parents of children with Cerebral Palsy(CP), explore the relationship between psychotherapy.Methods:(1)72parents of CP children from a rehabilitation center and72parents of normal children from a kindergarten in Changsha were Evaluated with self-designed inventory for general condition and case history, and measured by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI).(2)50parents of CP children with Insomnia were randomly divided into two groups,25Patients in Mental intervention group and25Patients in pharmacotherapy group. They were treated for2month respectively. Record the PSQI factors at the moment before treament,2month and1month after treatment respectively.Results:(1)To children with CP parents group sleep problems report rate was34.72%, the normal children of parents sleep problems report rate was19.44%; Score of PSQI, sleep quality, fall asleep time, hours of sleep and insomnia of parents of CP children had statistically significance(P<0.01or P<0.05), compared with the parents of normal children; Score of PSQI, sleep quality, fall asleep time, hours of sleep, insomnia and daytime function of mothers of CP children had statistically significance(P<0.01or P<0.05), compared with the fathers of CP children.(2) In pharmacotherapy group, score of PSQI, sleep quality, fall asleep time, hours of sleep and insomnia of parents of CP children before treatment had statistical significance(P<0.01or P<0.05), compared with the data after treatment. In mental intervention, score of PSQI, sleep quality, fall asleep time, hours of sleep and insomnia of parents of CP children before treatment had statistical significance(P<0.01or P<0.05), compared with the data after treatment; Score of PSQI, sleep quality, fall asleep time, hours of sleep and insomnia of parents of CP children1month after treatment had statistical significance(P<0.01or P<0.05), compared with the data before treatment; And they had statistical signifiance(P<0.01) in mental group, compared with pharmacotherapy group; The effective rate of mental intervention group was significantly superior to that of the pharmacotherapy group at one month later(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)Insomnia is a prevalent condition in the parents of CP children. Sleep quality, fall asleep time, hours of sleep are the most often styles. Sleep quality, fall asleep time, hours of sleep,insomnia and daytime function of mothers of CP children had statistically significance, compared with the fathers of CP children.(2) Promoting psychotherapy based on16Words may effectively improve sleeping quality of the parents of CP children and promote its recovery. It’s more comprehensive and durable than pharmacotherapy.
