Purpose:To investigate the change of damp pathogen syndrome and spleen-kidney qi deficiency of uremic patients in pre-and post-hemodialysis, and evaluate the influence of hemodialysis on the expression of them. To investigate the change of IL-17and provide new thoughts for clinical treatment based on syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine.(TCM)Methods:Twenty five CRF patients with a history of hmodialysis treatment more than1/2year were included in treatment group (TG), who presented spleen-kidney qi deficiency and dampness syndrome. Normal group (NG) consisted of21healthy volunteer was given. After peripheral blood collection from healthy volunteer and MHD patients pre-and post-hemodialysis, IL-17, BUN, P, TCM syndrome changes, tongue picture in pre-and post-hemodialysis were observed. Results:The scores of damp pathogen syndrome in patients of post-hemodialysis, compared with those in patients of pre-hemodialysis, reduce singnificantly (p<0.05). The syndrome of nausea and vomiting, poor appetite lassitude got improvement, the scores of those syndromes in post-hemodialysis were lower than those in pre-hemodialysis(p<0.01).BUN, P, and IL-17levels of TG in pre-hemodialysis are significantly higher than those of NG (p<0.05), IL-17levels of TG in pre-hemodialysis are significantly higher than those of TG in post-hemodialysis(p<0.05). BUN and P levels in pre-hemodialysis are significantly lower than those of TG in post-hemodialysis(p<0.01).Conclusions:1Hemodialysis can improve the syndrome of damp pathogen (temporary solution) in CRF patients, but not the syndrome of spleen-kidney qi deficiency(permanent cure).2Uremic symptoms are alleviated to a certain extent by hemodialysis, which also exacerbated inflammatory response body itself, which lead to increased IL-17after hemodialysis, suggesting IL-17may be involved in the pathogenesis of MHD in hemodialysis patients with abnormal immune function and inflammation.
