ObjectiveGastric cancer, one of most important malignant tumors which threatenhuman health, is in the first place of digestive tract malignant tumors. There aresignificant differences in incidence rate, age distribution, tissue pathologicalfeatures, clinical features and survival rate around the world and even the wholecountry. The study selected622cases of gastric cancer which were diagnosed bygastroscope, surgery and pathology, and retrospectively analyzed clinicalfeatures, pathology, prognosis and survival rate of gastric cancer in Tai’an,which provides suggestions for diagnosis, therapy and prevention of gastriccancer.Methods622hospitalized cases of gastric cancer were diagnosed by gastroscope, surgery and pathology and41467patients were checked by gastroscope fromMarch2002to March2010in the88th Hospital of PLA. The incidence rate, ages, sexes, causes, tissue pathological features, prognosis and survival rates ofgastric cancer in Tai’an were compared and analyzed.Results622Hospitalized cases of gastric cancer were diagnosed by gastroscope, surgery and pathology from March2002to March2010in the88th Hospital ofPLA. The total detection rate of gastric cancer was1.5%, and the detection ratein the recent4years was higher. The detection rate was elevated step by stepamong the young, middle-aged and elderly groups, which had statisticalsignificance. The ratio between male and female was2.76:1, and proportion offemale in the young group was higher than that in middle-aged and elderly groups. The percentage of Borrmann typeⅡ and Ⅲ was about78%among thewhole general types. The number of adenocarcinoma was the most in thehistopathology of gastric cancer, and it was about83.1%. The most initialsymptom was abdominal pain, but patients absent of symptoms increasedsignificantly. The most attacked site was gastric antrum, but gastric cancer offundus and cardia increasd (no significance). Helicobacter pylori infections wasthe main cause of gastric cancer, and infection rate was86%. The3-yearsurvival rates in stage Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ were65.2%,47.3%,19.1%and2.6%,respectively, and there were marked difference and statistical significance. The3-year survival rates in the young, middle-aged and elderly groups were38.42%,35.12%and27.34%, respectively, which had no statistical significance.ConclusionsThe detection rate of gastric cancer was raised in the recent4years inTai’an and elevated as the age of the patients rise. The majority of pathologywas adenocarcinoma, and the most attacked site was gastric antrum with thetrend to proximal end. The first chief complaint was abdominal pain, butpatients without symptoms increased gradually. The infection rate ofHelicobacter pylori was very high in patients with gastric cancer. The3-yearsurvival rates was lower as the stage of gastric cancer got worse.
