Objective:Based on studying the national and abroad documents about the performance appraisal of head nurse, establish performance appraisal system in order to provide a reference for the performance appraisal of head nurse.Methods:Based on document review and specialists consultation,30experts were consulted twice by the application of Delphi method. In addition, application of Precedence Chart provide the weight of the indexResults:The recovery rates were93.75%and100%respectively during the two round specialists consultation. It indicated that the enthusiasm of the specialists was high. According to the judge and the familiar degree of the specialists to the indexes, judge the authority of the specialists. The authority of this study was0.875. Using the harmony judged whether the opinion of the specialists was coincident or not. The significance test of the the harmony in this study was good(P<0.05). It showed the results were available. The weight of the first-grade indexes was confirmed by the Precedence Chart. The weight of management ability, operation competence and the professional quality were0.5055,0.3278and0.1667respectively, while the weight of the second and the third grade indexes were identified by the method of weight mean performance appraisal system of head nurse, there were3first grade indexes,13second grade indexes and43third grade indexes.Conclusions:During the30specialists consultation using the Delphi method, performance appraisal system of head nurse was established. There were3first grade indexes,13second grade indexes and43third grade indexes.
