Objective: Through the preparation of rabbit syringomyelia model, the application oftraditional Chinese medicine and YiSuiKeLi as an intervention, to observe and YiSuiKeLion the formation of the syringomyelia, further discussion and YiSuiKeLi early preventionand treatment of syringomyelia mechanism and significance.Methods:35New Zealand white rabbit, among which15YiSuiKeLi group,15control group and5sham-operation group, YiSuiKeLi group and the control group weresubjected to injection of25%kaolin mixed to produce the experimental syringomyeliamodels, sham-operation group were subjected to fake piercings. YiSuiKeLi group weretreated at the same time with YiSuiKeLi intragastric administration and control group weregiven the same volume normal saline by intragastric administration. All of the rabbit givenneurologic evaluation by Tarlov scores in3days,1week,2weeks,4weeks,6weeks,8weeks after operation. All animal underwent MRI in8weeks and observe the size of thesyringomyelia. Results: Postoperative incidence in spinal cord hole: the control group (73.3%)>YiSuiKeLi group (40.0%)> sham-operation group (0.0%), at the same time, correspondingto the P value is smaller than the significance level of0.05(0.009), showed that threegroups had significant difference between incidence of rabbit spinal cord hole. Threegroups of rats mortality: the control group (40%)> YiSuiKeLi group(13%)>sham-operation group (0.0%); Postoperative Tarlov scores improved at the same timepoints: sham-operation group> YiSuiKeLi group> control group, P <0.05, the differenceis compared between three groups have statistical significance. Conclusion: YiSuiKeLi can inhibit syringomyelia progression, and improve the nervedysfunction; the key of treatment is to enhance the overall disease-resistant ability, it reflects the overall concept of Chinese medicine theory.
