Object：Using data mining technology, to collect and sort modern physicians ’s casestreatment of headache by using radix paeoniae lactiflorae, for studying on the treatmentregularity of headache by using radix paeoniae lactiflorae.Methods： Screening the physicians treat headache containing radix paeoniaelactiflorae, which had been finished prescription from journal articles in the literaturefrom nearly30years (1983~2012), with the aid of SPSS statistical software to establishthe database, using the frequency analysis and SPSS statistical software Clementineassociation rules to conclude the high-frequency drugs, drug classes, commonly usedcouple drugs, as well as the close relationship between cluster consisting of drugs. On thisbasis, discussing modern physicians`experiences of fundamental prescriptions and drugCompatibility Law in the treatment of headache by using radix paeoniae lactiflorae.Results：The analysis shows that the total frequency of drugs is1196times, whichfrequency is used more than12times has27kinds. Drugs on the top of fifth Frequency aresupplementing drug, relieving drug, reducing liver to quench wind drugs and heat-clearingdrugs. Their total frequency is767times, which are the commonly drugs and drug classesfor this disease. In prescription of different syndrome types and made statistics, get radixpaeoniae lactiflorae was often used in syndrome hyperactivity of liver-yang，syndrome ofblood stasis in brain, qi and blood deficiency syndrome, exogenous cold syndrome. Theanalysis shows that there are nine clustering prescriptions groups.Conclusion： Through exploring the cluster which contains of radix paeoniaelactiflorae, consisting of drugs, drug class, and couple drugs, it can conclude that modern physicians use radix paeoniae lactiflorae to treat headache in syndrome hyperactivity ofliver-yang, syndrome of blood stasis in brain and so on. it can conclude that calming theliver–yang, tonifying the liver blood, expelling wind to relieve superficies and pain,relieving limb spasm pain is the main method of treatment of headache. The affect of radixpaeoniae lactiflorae by calming the liver–yang, soft the liver to relieve pain, nourishing andharmonizing is efficacy in the treatment of headache. It embodies the modern TCMphysicians the principle, method, square, medicine and the law of dialectical medication.
