Objective: To study the influence of rifapentine on IFN-γ、IL-12、IL-6and macrophage phagocytosis of the rat. Methods:60male SDrats (weighing180±30g) were randomly divided into the rifapentine group(n=30) and the control group(n=30).Then the rifapentine group and controlgroup were randomly divided into three sub-groups, respectively. Group Aand group B were fed on rifapentine for one month(n=10) and three(n=10)months, respectively, while group C was fed on rifapentine for threemonths and free one month(n=10). The rifapentine group was fed onrifapentine. The control group was fed on0.1%sodium carboxymethylcellulose. The other conditions were the same in two groups. The serumlevels of IFN-γ、IL-12and IL-6were detected by ELISA. The agar platesmethod was used to detect the serum level of lysozyme. The lead nitratemethod was adopted to evaluate acid phosphatase in rat enterocoeliamacrophage. The serum levels of IFN-γ、IL-12、IL-6and lysozyme werecounted by t test and acid phosphatase in rat enterocoelia macrophage wascounted by rank sum test. Results:1. The serum level of IFN-γ of therifapentine group was significantly decreased than that of the control groupin group B(P<0.05), and no differences were found in group A and C. Theserum levels of IL-12of the rifapentine group weren’t found differences than that of the control group in group A、B and C. The serum level oflysozyme of the rifapentine group was significantly increased than that ofthe control group in group B(P<0.05), and no differences were found ingroup A and C. The activities of acid phosphatase of the rifapentine groupwere significantly increased than that of the control group in group A and B(P<0.05), and no difference was found in group C.2. In the controlgroups, the serum level of lysozyme in group C was significantly reducedthan that in group A and B, respectively(P<0.05). The activity of acidphosphatase in rat enterocoelia macrophage in the group C was significantlyincreased than that in group A and B,respectively (P<0.05). The serumIL-6wasn’t detected.The reason may be that the content of IL-6in theserum was too low to be detected. Conclusion:1. The serum IFN-γ in therat was significantly decreased after feeding on rifapentine for three months.The serum IL-12in the rat was also decreased after feeding on rifapentinefor three months in a certain extent. The serum level of lysozyme in the ratswas significantly improved after feeding on rifapentine for three months.The activity of acid phosphatase in rat enterocoelia macrophage wassignificantly improved after feeding on rifapentine for one month and threemonths.2. As rat mature, the serum level of lysozyme was reduced, and theactivity of acid phosphatase in rat enterocoelia macrophage was improved.3. Stopping rifapentine,the serum levels of IFN-γ、IL-12and lysozyme ofthe rat recovered, and the activity of acid phosphatase in rat enterocoelia macrophage recovered.
