Objective: Mechanical ventilation has become an important treatmentfor your current and Critical Care Medicine, to analyse the etiology ofventilatorassociated pneumonia (VAP), explore effective countermeasures,in order to achieve the best clinical effect of mechanical ventilation(MV).Methods: retrospective analysis the VAP cases in our hospital from2010January to2011December. To investigate the general informationabout incidence, bacteriology and drug sensitivity test results, care andprognosis et al, observing the body temperature, peripheral bloodleukocytes, sputum bacterial culture and x-ray to diagnose VAP.Results:275cases of patients with MV for more than48h,47casesConcurrent VAP, occurred at a rate of17.09%. Ventilation timeā‰„5dayswere158cases, a total of44cases of VAP, the incidence rate of27.85%.47VAP patients by symptomatic and supportive care, treatment, effectivecases is26, ineffective cases is21,7deaths, the mortality rate was14.89%. Conclusion: VAP is a common complication of MV, It is likely tocause prolonged hospitalization, increased cost of hospitalization, and eventhreatened the lives of patients. The incidence of VAP increased with theventilation time prolonged, the pathogens of VAP based on G-, and drugresistance is generally higher, effective prevention and treatment methodsand correct nursing for VAP, is the focus of clinical work.
