Recently, depression has become one of the major diseases thatthreaten the physical and mental health of the children and adolescents whowill be the main masters and successors of our society in the future. It isvery important that we cure the depression effectively for the restoration oftheir physical and mental health and social function. However, the drugapplication for children and teenagers is relatively limited owing to thedrug-related side effects and especially for the consideration that the youngpeople are in a special stage of growth and development. While, manyforms of non-drug treatment having different efficacy, different target, canalso play the effect for complementary therapy well. Thus, this review isgoing to summarize the non-pharmacotherapy interventions for depressionin the youth from psychological therapy, physical therapy to exercisetherapy and so many ways at home and abroad in recent years with thebelief that the non-pharmaceutical interventions will be the more and moreimportant part of clinical treatment for the youth depression, will havebroad application prospects.
