Objective: To assess the feasibility and value of laparoscopiccholecystectomy (LC) in patients with mild acute biliary pancreatitis(MABP)during the initial admission with delayed LC.Methods: The clinical data of36patients with mild acute biliarypancreatitis receiving LC during the index admission and24patients withthe history of MABP but does not have the gallstone onset receiving LC inour hospital from January2006to June2012were retrospectively analyzed.Observed and recorded two groups of cases, the data contained the generalinformation, clinical manifestations, auxiliary examination, therapeuticmeasures and follow-up visit, etc. Use statistical methods to analyzeoperating time, total hospital stays and total hospitalization expensesbetween two groups. Results: All cases have done LC. There was no significant difference inoperating time between research group and control group (P>0.05),but intotal hospital stays (research group was (11.83±3.97) days, the control groupwas (31.67±5.03) days] and total hospitalization expenses [research group(23324±5393.60) yuan, the control group (40324±7816.20) yuan] the difference has statistical significance (P <0.05). There were no recurrence intwo groups of cases who were followed up for6to12months.Conclusions: Patients with MABP receiving LC are safe and feasiblewhen clinical symptoms remission, serum amylase(AMS) and lipase(LPS)become normal by symptomatic therapy during the index admission. Andalso can reduce the recurrence rate of biliary pancreatitis, reducehospitalization expenses、the hospital stays and the burden on patients.
