Objective:The aim of this study is to discuss the diagnostic valueof Cerebrospinal fluid C reactive protein and procalcitonin levels fordistinguishing intracranial infections。Methods:17patients suffered bacteroidal intracranial infection,8viral meningitis,11tuberculosis meningitis and11control group patientssuffered neurologic disease eliminate cerebrovascular disease, tumor, autoimmune disease, and other parts of the inflammation were studied。Specimens gained by lumbar puncture or ventricular drainage ofcerebrospinal fluid。Cerebrospinal fluid was centrifuged (4000r/min,5minutes) and then remain supernatant。Test the level of PCT、CRP andprotein, glucose and chloridion in cerebrospinal fluid。At last, use SPSS17.0to carry out the statistical analysis about the determination results。Result:(1)PCT、CRP levels in CSF were significantly higher inpatients with bacterial intracranial infection compared to patients withnormal、viral and tubercular meningitis (P<0.05),and there is no significant difference among normal、viral and tubercular meningitis(P>0.05)。(2)Protein, glucose, chloride ions levels in CSF were significantly difference inpatients with tubercular meningitis compared to patients with normal andviral meningitis(P<0.05)。There is no significant difference between normaland viral meningitis(P>0.05)(3)Through the ROC curve analysis,CSFPCT and CRP of bacterial meningitis has differential diagnosis significance;CSF PCT with cut off value>0.075ng/ml showed sensitivity, specificityvalue of64.7%,100%and CRP with cut off value>0.015mg/l showedsensitivity, specificity value of88.2%,76.7%。Conclusion:Both CSF PCT and CRP level could be used as newindicators to distinguish bacterial intracranial infection from other types ofintracranial infection,But the diagnosis of viral meningitis and tubercularmeningitis still rely on cerebrospinal fluid biochemical examination such asprotein, glucose, chloride ions and so on。...
