Objective : Acute bacterial intracranial infection was a common complication in craniotomy after hematencephalon.PCT have become a focus in the diagnosis of acute bacterial infection during these years. However, the relationship between PCT and intracranial infection is still unclear. In this study,we analyzed the level of serum PCT in the third day after evacuation of intracranial hematoma, and evaluated the relationship of serum PCT and the early diagnosis of acute bacterial intracranial infection after evacuation of intracranial hematoma,to provide an early diagnostic basis for acute bacterial intracranial infection. Methods:In this study,47 patients diagnosed with hematencephalon and underwent evacuation of intracranial hematoma were included from January,2017 to January 2018.The levels of the serum PCT,CSF WBC,serum WBC were determined in the third day after the operation. On the basis of the diagnostic standard of acute bacterial intracranial infection,20 patients were diagnosed of acute bacterial intracranial infection(infection group),and 27 were not(non-infection group. We analysed the serum PCT,CSF WBC,serum WBC between the two groups by bivariate correlation analysis, calculated the Pearson correlation coefficient between serum PCT and CSF WBC,calculated the result of T test for serum PCT,made the ROC diagram according to serum PCT,and calculated the sensitivity and the specificity of serum PCT.Results:The results showed that there was a positive correlation between serum PCT and CSF WBC in intracranial infection.,the level of serum PCT was significantly higher in the acute bacterial intracranial infection group than those non-infection group(P<0.05).the level of CSF WBC was significantly higher in the acute bacterial intracranial infection group than those non-infection group(P<0.05),while the CSF sugar and serum WBC had no statistic difference.AUC of ROC was 0.797.The sensitivity and specificity of serum PCT?0.285 ug/L to diagnosis of acute bacterial intracranial infection were 63%and 82%.Conclusion: The level of serum PCT was significantly higher in the acute bacterial intracranial infection group than those non-infection group.Serum PCT is positively correlated with CSF WBC.Acute bacterial intracranial infection could be dignosed when PCT is higher than 0.285 ug/L,serum PCT was the middle level in the accuracy of diagnosis of acute bacterial intracranial infection, and had a high level of sensitivity and specificity. There is no significant difference between CSF sugar and serum WBC in diagnosis of intracranial infenction.
