Objective:To analyze the risk factor of malignant glaucoma after glaucoma surgery in primary angle closure glaucoma.Methods:715cases(927eyes) with primary angle closure glaucoma were performed with glaucoma surgery. Age,sex, typing of glaucoma, axis length, depth of anterior chamber, the angle structure, the thickness and location of lens were recorded and compared between those who developed malignant glaucoma postoperatively and those undeveloped.Results:19cases(21eyes) developed maligment glaucoma after glaucoma surgery. Age,sex, typing of glaucoma, axis length, depth of anterior chamber, the angle structure, the thickness and of lens, and intraocular pressure sustained high preoperatively have significant statistically differences between those who developed malignant glaucoma postoperatively and those undeveloped(P<0.05).The location of lens and the way of surgery have no significant statistically differences (P>0.05).Conclusions:Patients of PACG developed maligment glaucoma are relative to its anatomy. Relatively young female patients (≤50y) of PACG with short axial length, shallow anterior chamber, thin lens, the angle closed and intraocular pressure sustained high preoperatively are more likely to develope malignant glauconla after operations.
