This thesis aims to explore and discuss whether cancer cells will constitute invasion to the hepatic artery during the developing process of the gastric cancer and the relevant clinical features regarding the hydrocele invasion, so as to provide reference to the surgical treatment of gastric cancer.Methodology:The author has collected50samples of vagina vasorums of the hepatic artery that were cut off in50gastric cancer surgeries conducted and collected by the Gastrointestinal Surgery Department of Xiangya Hospital. By using paraffin, HE staining and immunohistochemical staining, the author observed cancer invasion process to the vagina vasorum samples. Results:There are6samples that showed cancer cell invasion phenomena, which includes two gastric cancer of Phase Ⅲ and4gastric cancer of Phase Ⅳ, while no cancer cell invasion was observed to the vagina vasorum of hepatic artery in gastric cancer of Phase Ⅰ and Phase Ⅱ; of all the gastric cancer cases of different phases, the specimens CK positive rate difference is of statistical importance (p=0.012); At Phase Ⅲ and Phase Ⅳ, the lymph node positive rate in CK positive cases of vagina vasorum of gastric cancer is obviously higher than that in CK negative cases, with the difference of statistical importance (χ2=34.441, P<0.0001)(χ2=15.505; P<0.0001); lymph node metastasis rate in Group8of the specimens CK positive cases is higher than that in the CK negative cases, with the difference of statistical importance (p=0.021). However, the differences in CK positive rate resulting from the different depths of gastric cancer cell invasion and the different positions of tumors are of no statistical meaning.Conclusion:1. With the development of gastric cancer into different phases, an increase of risk can be observed in the cancer cell invasion to the vagina vasorum of hepatic artery; especially for gastric cancer of Phase Ⅲ, it may be of necessity to cut off the vagina vasorum in the surgery.2. The high positive rate in the overall lymph node system around the stomach in gastric cancer cases is related to the hepatic artery vagina vasorum invasion. Besides, the increase in the lymph node metastasis rate in Group8may trigger invasion to the hepatic artery vagina vasorum.3. Right now, there is still no adequate evidence to prove the influence that the depth of gastric cancer cell invasion and the position of tumors may have on the hepatic artery vagina vasorum invasion.
