Objective: Adolescents ’ Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD) has become a problembeing universally concerned by the full society. Some studies find that adolescents withinternet addict disorder have obvious depression disorder. In this paper, we firstconsider the co-morbidity of IAD and depression disorder. Then we compare the levelsof depression and cognitive emotion regulation (CERQ) between IAD and non-IAD. Atlast,We explore the relationship of depression and CERQ in IAD adolescents. Methods: The IAD group was recruited from total courtyard of Beijing militaryregion, the non-IAD group were recruited from a common middle school in Beijing. The studied group was diagnosed by using the diagnostic criteria for internet addiction(Tao R) and DSM-Ⅳ-TR. The SDS and CERQ scales were adopted to measure thelevels of depression and cognitive emotion regulation of IAD and non-IAD.Results:1.The co-morbidity rate of IAD and depression disorder is27.2%.2.IAD group showed a higher SDS total score than non-IAD group(P<0.01).Without depression disorder in IAD showed a higher SDS total score thannon-IAD group(P<0.01).3.IAD group showed lower scores in acceptance, planning, putting intoperspective (P<0.05,P<0.05, P<0.01)and higher other-blame scores than non-IADgroup(P<0.01).Without depression disorder in IAD group showed lower scores inacceptance, planning (P<0.05,P<0.05)and higher other-blame score than non-IADgroup(P<0.01).Without depression disorder in IAD group showed higher planningscores than with depression disorder in IAD group.4.Correlation analysis showed that the levels of depression in IAD had positivecorrelation with Catastrophizing(r=.391,P<0.01)and had negative correlation withpositive Reappraisal(r=-0.357,p<0.01),planning(r=-0.313,P<0.05). Conclusions: This study found the co-morbidity of IAD and depressiondisorder.Compared to non-IAD, IAD adolescents have higher levels of depression, theyare most likely to adopt other-blame, and less use acceptance, planning, putting intoperspective. This way of CERQ of adolescents ’ IAD has some relationship to their highlevels of depression.
