Adolescent depression is a common emotional disorder in adolescent groups.Some studies have shown that adolescent depression is often accompanied by depression,anxiety,and other adverse emotions,as well as self-consciousness and executive function damage.The disease seriously affects the physical and mental health of the patient.Therefore,effective treatment methods of adolescent depression have become an important problem to be solved urgently.Painting therapy,as one of the nonverbal expressive art therapy methods,is more easily accepted by adolescents.Some studies have found that painting therapy may effectively alleviate emotional disorder,and improve self-consciousness and executive function,however,more effective longitudinal studies of random control trial are still needed to confirm the curative effect of group painting therapy on patients with mental illness.Moreover,there are few intervention studies on depression in age-specific adolescents;and the measurement of the duration of its therapeutic effect is even rarer.Therefore,the present study applied group painting therapy to depression adolescents,to explore the role of group painting therapy in alleviating depression and anxiety emotion,improving self-consciousness and executive function,and to measure the duration of therapeutic effect for group painting therapy.In this study,34 adolescents with depression were collected from the mental clinic of Chongqing Mental Health Center.The subjects were randomly divided into control and treatment group.The control group only received traditional drug therapy(fluoxetine)and did not receive any activities related to group painting therapy;while the treatment group received group painting therapy once a week,90 minutes each time,for a total of 8 weeks,with about 10 people in each group.Before group painting treatment,4 weeks and 8 weeks during painting treatment,the Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders(SCARED),Depression Self-Rating Scale for Children(DSRSC),Children's Self-concept Scale(PHCSS),wisconsin Card Sorting Test(WCST)were collected.In order to evaluate the duration of therapeutic effect for group painting therapy,this study followed up the patients 2 weeks after the end of group painting therapy,and again collected the SCARED,DSRSC,PHCSS,WCST.The results showed that:(1)DSRSC: The depression emotion was improved in both groups during the whole treatment stage,but the depression emotion in treatment group was significantly lo ? er than that in control group.At 2 weeks after the end of treatment,the depression emotion of treatment group was still significantly lower than that of control group.Moreover,in control group,the depression emotion did not reach significant between 8w during treatment stage and 2 weeks after the end of treatment,however,the depression emotion of treatment group continued to ease.(2)SCARED: The overall anxiety emotion of two groups was improved in thewhole treatment stage,however,the overall anxiety of treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group.At 2 weeks after the end of treatment,the overall anxiety of treatment group was still significantly lower than control group.However,compared with the 8w during treatment stage,the overall anxiety of control and treatment groups continued to ease at 2 weeks after the end of treatment.In addition,during treatment stage and 2 weeks after the end of treatment,the scores of somatization symptom/panic and school phobia factors in treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group.Meanwhile,at 2weeks after the end of treatment,there was no significant change in the scores of extensive anxiety and separated anxiety factors in control group,but the scores of extensive anxiety and separated anxiety factors in treatment group were still significantly decreased.(3)PHCSS: The self-consciousness level in both groups was improved during the hole treatment stage,but the self-consciousness level in treatment group was significantly higher than control group.And at 2 weeks after treatment,the selfconsciousness level in treatment group was still significantly higher than control group.However,compared with the 8w,the self-consciousness level of control group did not change significantly at 2 weeks after treatment,but the self-consciousness level of the treatment group continued to improve.In addition,during treatment and 2weeks after treatment,the behavioral factor,intelligence and school condition factor,body appearance and attribute factor,and anxiety factor in treatment group were significantly higher than control group.At 2 weeks after treatment,compared with the 8w,the scores of happiness and satisfaction factor in control group did not change significantly,but the scores of happiness and satisfaction factor in treatment group was still significantly improved.(4)WCST: During the whole treatment stage and at 2 weeks after treatment,the correct response number(C)and learning(L-L)in two groups were increased,however,the C and L-L in treatment group were significantly higher than control group.Meanwhile,the error response number(E),the number of trials to complete the first category(CFC)and perseverative response score(PRS)in treatment group were significantly lower than control group.In addition,2 weeks after treatment,conceptual level responses(CLR)of treatment group was significantly higher than control group.The findings indicated that: Group painting therapy(1)may alleviate the depression emotion for adolescent depression,and the therapeutic effect will continue until 2 weeks after treatment.(2)may alleviate the anxiety emotion for adolescent depression,and the therapeutic effect may continue until 2 weeks after treatment.Mainly reflected in somatization symptoms/panic and school phobia anxiety factor.(3)may improve the selfawareness level of adolescents with depression,and the therapeutic effect can last until 2 weeks after treatment,mainly reflected in behavior,intelligence and school conditions,physical appearance and attributes,as well as anxiety factors.(4)may improve the executive function of adolescents with depression.And the therapeutic effect lasted until 2 weeks after the end of the treatment.It is helpful to improve its abstract generalization,especially its initial concept formation ability,cognitive transfer ability,concept formation insight,and learning ability.The findings further applied painting art therapy to adolescents with depression,and measured the therapeutic effect,which better proved the effectiveness of painting therapy.It also provides data support for the application of group painting treatment in patients with depression,and enriches the relevant theoretical knowledge.
