| Objective To observe the effect of herbal treatment with Clearing pathogens, astringing ulceration, activating and cooling blood on ulcerative colitis (UC)active period, In order to provide a Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment of active ulcerative colitis for clinical which can board common sense and apply.Methods The60UC patients were randomized into the treatment group (30cases) treated by Mesalazine, together with oral and enema with the herbal decoction, and the control group (30cases) treated by the Mesalazine. Both groups were treated by12weeks. The effect of two groups was compared after treatment.Results In the treatment group,27cases were clinical effective,3cases were invalid, the total efficiency was90%.In the controlled group,20cases were clinical effective,10cases were invalid, the total efficiency was66.67%. The treatment group was better than the controlled group, and two groups compared statistically significant. In the treatment group,28cases were clinical eased, remission rate was93.3%. In the controlled group,22cases were clinical eased, remission rate was73.3%. The treatment group was better than the controlled group, and two groups compared statistically significant. In the treatment group, Intestinal mucosal healing rate was54.5%, and the controlled group was30%, the treatment group was better than the controlled group, and two groups compared statistically significant. Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome total efficiency was90%, and the controlled group was76.67%. The treatment group was better than the controlled group, and two groups compared statistically significant. Both the treatment group and controlled group had no complications, the life quality is better, but the former is obvious. The safety indexes were normal.Conclusion The clearing pathogens, astringing ulceration, activating and cooling blood therapy combined with western medicine is effective on active ulcerative colitis(UC),and it is safe. |
