Objective:To observe the effet of wairmming moxibustion on vascular endothelial infla mmatory response and aortic morphology in rats with chronic hyperlipemia,in order to i nvestigate the mechanism of moxibustion protecting endothelialcells and prevention of at herosclerosis.Methods:48adult male,Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into4groups:nor mal blank control group,hyperlipemia model group,wairmming moxibustion group,drug tr eatment group,with12in each group.Except normal blank control group,the remaining t hree groups were fed with fat emulsion for four weeks caused hyperlipemia models(10mg/kg daily).The rats of wairmming moxibustion group were treated with Qing Ai10min×1time/day(Shenque point,double-sidedZusanli point),the rats of drug treatment group wer e treated with suspension of lovastatin(10mg/kg daily),treatment lasted for4weeks.After treatment, chromatography method was used for testing serum total cholesterol(TC), triglyc eride(TG),low density lipoprotein(LDL-c),high density lipoprotein(HDL),double antibody sa ndwich method for measuring serum interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-8(IL-8),tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-a).Vascular endothelial morphology was observed by HE staining after sep aration and clipping of the thoracic aorta,immunohistocemistry was used to observe the expression of vascular cell adherence molecules-1(VCAM-1) in thoracic aorta.Results:1.Compared with hyperlipemia model group,the rats of wairmming moxibustion group serum TC、TG、LDL-c level was significantly decreased(P<0.01);the level of seru m TC、LDL-c in wairmming moxibustion group was significantly less than that in drug treatment group(P<0.01),but the level of serumTG、HDL-c was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).2.Compared with hyperlipemia model group,the rats of wairmming moxibustion group serum IL-6、IL-8、TNF-α level and the expression of V CAM-1in thoracic aorta was significantly decreased(P<0.01);the serum IL-8、TNF-α lev el and the expression of VCAM-lof drug treatment group were significantly lower than hyperlipemia model group(P<0.01),IL-6reducing,however,was not statistically significant (P>0.05);the decreasing tendency of IL-6、IL-8、VCAM-1in wairmming moxibustion gr oup was better than that in drug treatment group,but there was no statistically significan t difference between the two groups(P>0.05).3.Vascularendothelial injury of wairmming moxibustion group improved significantly co mpared with hyperlipemia model group,ther e were relatively smooth Intimal and neatly arranged smooth muscle cells in wairmming moxibustion group.4.The positive expression particles of VCAM-1of wairmming moxi bustion group scattering distributed in thoracic aorta and were more concentrated in the endothelial cell layer,which compared with hyperlipemia model group was significantly r educed.Conclusion:1.Wairmming moxibustion group had a good adjustment of blood lipid,whic h is better than lovastatin in reducing the level of TC、LDL-c.2.Wairmming moxibustio n group can reduce the level of IL-6、IL-8、TNF-α in serumand the expression of VCA M-1in thoracic aorta to achieve the purpose of effectively inhibiting the inflammatory r esponse of the artery endothelium.3.Wairmming moxibustion group can improve vascula r endothelial injury significantly,there were regular structures in the intima and media of moxibustion group.4.Warming moxibustion can protect vascular endothelial cells effecti vely by regulating blood lipid and inhibiting the inflammatory response for preventing a nd treating early lesions of atherosclerosis.
