ObjectiveTo stud the role of magnetic resonance in diagnosis of early breast cancerby comparative analysis its image taken by the mammography, colorultrasonography, and conventional MRI with dynamic contrast scanning.MethodsForty five female patients with early breast cancer from the CentralHospital of TaiAn were selected. All of them received mammography, colorultrasonography, and conventional MRI with dynamic contrast scanning, andwith the pathologic results as the gold standard to analyze the characteristicsand accuracy of the three methods in diagnosis of early breast cancer; and tocompare the accuracy of the three methods in diagnosing the size of early breastcancer. The morphology and dynamic contract performance of early breastcancer were observed, the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of the MPRtechnique and the dynamic contrast scanning curve technique with conventionalMRI in diagnosis of early breast cancer were compared and the correlationbetween MRI and early breast cancer was analyzed.ResultsAll the45cases were unilateral breast lesions, and confirmed by pathology,32with early breast cancer and13benign lesions. With mammography,28caseswere diagnosed as early breast cancer and16cases benign lesion, and thesensitivity, specificity and accuracy of mammography as compared withpathology were81.3%、84.6%、 and87.5%respectively. With colorultrasonography,23cases were diagnosed as early breast cancer, and thesensitivity, specificity and accuracy of color ultrasonography were62.5%、 76.9%、 and71.9%(23/32) respectively. With MRI,30cases were diagnosed asearly breast cancer, and the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of MRI were90.6%、92.3%and93.8%(30/32) respectively. As compared with the pathologicresults, mammography, color ultrasonography and MRI differed significantly(p0.001). As compared with the pathologic results, mammography and colorultrasonography differed significantly in terms of sensitivity in diagnosis ofearly breast cancer, and mammography was obviously superior overultrasonography (P0.05), and the accuracy of MRI and mammography indiagnosis of early breast cancer was significantly higher than that ofultrasonography (P0.05), and the difference between MRI and ultrasonographywas statistically significant (P0.05).Conclusion1. Conventional breast MRI with dynamic contrast scanning curve analysisis of great importance in diagnosis of early breast cancer and helpful indiagnosis and differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast diseases.2. MRI can be used as an important means for early diagnosis andpreoperative evaluation of breast cancer and can be promoted in detection ofearly breast cancer due to its high sensitivity, relatively high specificity andaccuracy, and radiationless.
