Purpose: Diabetic Nephropathy (DN) is one of the chronic complications ofdiabetes mellitus and also a common cause for kidney failure. Current researchindicates that Insulin-Like growth factor1(IGF-1) plays a role in the developmentand progression of DN. This paper aims at observing the expression of IGF=1in theblood serum of patients suffering from type2DN and further observe the influence ofBenazepril drugs on the expression of IGF-1in the blood serum of patients sufferingfrom type2DN, so as to provide theoretical foundation for the clinical treatment oftype2DN.Methods: select80type2DM patients received and cured by EndocrinologyDepartment of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from August2010to April2012. Choose40type2DN patients out of the selected ones asobservation groups and divide them into microalbuminuria (Group A) with22patients, massive proteinuria (Group B) with10patients and renal insufficiency(Group C) with8patients according to the differences in their urinary albuminexcretion rate (UAER); choose the other40type2DN patients (Group D) as controlgroup during the same period. Conduct basic treatment on the patients in theobservation groups and have Benazepril intervention on them, measure the bloodpressure, height, weight of the patients and calculate their body mass index(BMI)when they are divided into the group. Collect the specimens of blood serum and urineof the patients before and after treatment, adopt enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay(ELISA) to detect IGF-1level in the blood serum, and conduct normal inspection onthe level of fasting blood glucose (FBG), Glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA1c),alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), serum creatinine(Scr), Blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and UAER.results:1. The baseline expression quantity of IGF-1and UAER in the observationgroups is apparently higher than those in the control group and the contrast differenceis of statistical significance (P<0.05). 2. The baseline24h urine protein, BUN and SCr in the observation groups isobviously higher than those in the control group and the contrast difference is ofstatistical significance (P<0.05).3. The IGF-1and UAER of the DN patients are positively related, r=O.414,P<0.05.4. After Benazepril intervention, the expression quantity of IGF-1in theobservation groups is significantly lower than the baseline level and the contrastdifference is of statistical significance (P<0.05).5. The effective rate of treatment is100.0%in Group A,90%in Group B, and62.5%in Group C. The effective rates of Group A and Group B are significantlyhigher than that of Group C.Conclusion:1. The expression of IGF-1may become the indicator in the early prediction oftype2DN.2. Benazepril intervention can reduce the expression of IGF-1in blood serum, improve renal function and delay the development and progression of DN.
