Clinical Research On TCM Treatment Of Polymyositis/Dermatomyositis Based On Combination Of Diseases And Symptomes

Objective: By comparing the clinical efficacy and safety of treatment group andcontrol group in treating Polymyositis or Dermatomyositis, investigate guidingsignificance of the disease for TCM treatment based on combination of disease andsymptom. Methods: This study collected30cases of Polymyositis or Dermatomyositis,randomly divided into treatment group and control group according to1:1ratio. Thetreatment group taking corticosteroids with Chinese herbal compound based oncombination of disease and symptom,the control group taking corticosteroids only.12weeks after, two groups of symptoms of TCM quantitative score, myodynamia score,muscle tenderness (VAS) score, serum enzyme, blood sedimentation, hormone useconditions and adverse reaction are analyzed using by Statistical Product and ServiceSolutions(SPSS)17.0,in order to evaluate the role of treating the disease by traditionalChinese medicine objectively. Results: The treatment group is better than the control groupin terms of symptoms of TCM quantitative score, myodynamia score, serum enzyme,hormone use conditions(P＜0.05). There was no statistically significant difference betweenboth groups in terms of muscle tenderness (VAS) score and blood sedimentation(P＞0.05).The treatment group is better than the control group obviously in terms of hormone useconditions（P＜0.01）.The adverse reactions of the treatment group was significantly lowerthan the control group. Conclusions:Treatment of Polymyositis or Dermatomyositis withcorticosteroids and Chinese herbal compound based on combination of disease andsymptom Helps to increase efficacy and reduce side effects,and also helps to reduce thedosage of hormone. Prove that TCM treatment based on combination of disease andsymptom used in the treatment of this disease is of great significance.
